Meeting
Jasper wandered blindly through the streets of Philadelphia in the dark of night, his hunger suffocating his senses. He felt as if he was searching for something, searching for someone. Finally, he noticed a brightly lit diner fifty yards away, its only occupant being a small dark-haired girl in a light blue dress, her back to him. His mouth began watering at the thought of blood he would finally experience after so long. As he approached the entrance, Jasper could feel her feelings of hope rolling off her in waves.
As he opened the door, she swiveled around on her stool and Jasper realized she was like him, and that she was beautiful. Her expression lit up as she took in his appearance and a feline smile took over her features.
"You've kept me waiting a long time."
Family
They walked hand in hand up the porch steps; his arm secured around her waist to protect her from harm. Alice's dainty fist swiftly rapped as the door as a common courtesy before the door was open by a taller blonde man, with a caramel-haired woman behind him with kind features. Next to the woman stood another, a blonde with ethereal like beauty, with a tall, intimidating man with curly hair and dimples behind her. Off to the side stood a sullen teen boy, with bronze locks in disarray and eyes professing wisdom beyond his physical presence's age. Jasper could feel their confusion saturate the air, then saw as the sullen boy's expression changed as he saw Alice's vision of them becoming a family.
Alice let out a deep, yet unnecessary, breath and looked up at him, love and happiness exuding from her small frame.
"We're home." She smiled.
New Girl
Alice's eyes clouded over as the vision overtook her, fuzzy images flying through her head, one of them being pictures of Edward attacking the new Swan girl and the rest of his biology class. Jasper was there to support her as she sat down against the brick wall of Forks High's exterior.
"Go to Edward, now." She cried desperately to Emmett, who stood at her feet watching warily. She paused, a new scene clouding her eyes. "Never mind. We're safe now. He's leaving school."
He took into his arms, sending feelings of calm into her. "We're going to get a new family member soon," she whispered. Jasper simply nodded and helped her up, clasping her hand into his larger one.
Papercut
The day was supposed to be perfect. Alice had him and Emmett downstairs all night so they could help her with decorations and Jasper could feel the joy radiating off her as she bounced around the living and dining rooms. Esme wrapped the gifts, with Rose as her reluctant assistant. But once the wrapping paper cut Bella's finger, his instincts took over and he had no thoughts. It was as if he was watching the scene outside his body.
He only wished that he was more structured, more disciplined, less feral at the sight of blood as they drove by Bella's small house on their way out of town, the car filled with sadness.
Vision
They lay together in their room, him intensely reading a new Robert E. Lee bio, her flipping through the latest Vogue. One arm draped over her waist, he rubbed small circles into her side. The rest of the family was out hunting; Edward no longer with them caused hunting trips to last longer. Jasper put his book down and leaned over the view the page his wife was reading. As she turned the sheet over, her hand stalled and he felt Alice's emotions go blank. Her hand flew to her mouth as the vision ended.
"Bella is dead."
