Just a quick little story, nothing really serious here.
The class was all gathered around the teacher's desk, waiting for her to hand out their grades. No one had seemed to realize, though, that Miss Yukari wasn't even there yet.
They were all staring at an empty desk.
"I hope I passed that test," Osaka lamented. "it was so hard…"
"For once, I agree with you," Tomo replied. "That was a seriously hard test."
Chiyo laughed. "No it wasn't. It was-"
She didn't get to finish her sentence, though, due to the fact that everyone had trampled over her in their attempt to get to Miss Yukari, who had just walked in the door.
"What did I make?"
"Can you tell me my grade?"
"Are you hung over?"
That last one was Osaka, of course.
Miss Yukari battled the hordes of children and sat down at her desk. She sighed dramatically.
"First off, SIT DOWN!!!"
The class complied.
Once they had been seated, Miss Yukari spoke again. "To answer your question, Osaka, yes, I am hung over. But that is not going to stop me from teaching."
"Or whatever it is that you do…" Tomo muttered. The classmates seated around her tittered with laughter.
"Alright, here are your grades…" Yukari muttered. As she called out the names of the students, they came up one by one to receive their grades. The grades were less than stellar, as could be expected, and the girls' hopes fell with each passing moment.
"Mihama, Chiyo." Chiyo went up and got her paper. "A 60…?"
"We're screwed…" muttered Tomo. "If she got so low…"
"Takino, Tomo." Tomo went up to get her paper. She looked at it and closed her eyes. "Damn…" she muttered. "A 75… Guess it's still better than Chiyo-chan's, though."
"Mizuhara, Koyomi." Yomi went up as well. "80… Not bad."
"Osaka." She went up and took a look at her paper, and burst into a radiant smile.
"You guys aren't going to believe this!"
"What?" asked Tomo.
"I made a 100!" Osaka replied, holding her paper up and beaming.
All the class gasped. Osaka had beaten Chiyo-chan? And by such a large margin?
Hell, how had everyone made higher than Chiyo?
As everyone stared over at Chiyo, her face began to turn as red as a beet. She could feel tears forming in the corner of her eyes, and though she tried to hold them back, they flowed freely, as Chiyo's worst fears were realized in front of her very eyes. The entire class started laughing at her, chanting "We're better than Chiyo-chan!" incessantly, and…
…
…
…
Chiyo awoke with a gasp, sitting bolt-upright in her bed. Night sweats poured off her forehead, which she swiped away angrily.
"I never want to have that dream again…" Chiyo muttered. "Everyone laughing at me, I'm crying so much…"
Just then, her phone rang, and she answered it.
"Hello?"
"HIya!" Osaka replied. "Guess what I made on my English exam yesterday?"
---
Osaka couldn't believe it, when Chiyo-chan let out an ear-piercing scream and slammed the phone down, cutting Osaka off.
What got into her? Must've been a bad dream…
Sorry if that was a bit too short for you, but I'm a little rushed for time right now… Hopefully my next story will be a little bit longer/better.
Hope you enjoyed it, though.
