Prologue

Bella's POV

Trees. Rocks. Green grass. More green grass. Moss. Fog.

All the great scenery of Forks, Washington.

I looked around the forest. I might as well hunt, I thought to myself. I closed my eyes and let my senses take over. I immediately spotted elk about 50 yards to my left. I crept slowly with my eyes closed. I made my way to them. Finally I opened my eyes. There were about 3 of them. One was on the far right of the group, drinking water from the river, too busy to notice me. The second was in the smack middle, eyeing me curiously. The third one was eating some grass, also eyeing me.

"Piece of cake", I muttered under my breath.

I sprinted to the second elk that was in the middle. Poor guy tried to get a head start but I clenched my jaw around his neck. He immediately dropped. I let my jaw hold go free and headed for the other two. They were both an easy catch. All I had to do was run and get my jaw around their necks. I piled them up with the first one. I drank them up in minutes.

After eating, I looked down at my clothes. My blue shirt and khaki shorts were ruined with mud. So much for ruining my favorite shirt. The shirt he gave me. God, I can't even say his name without that burning, stinging feeling in my eyes. Eyes that would never be able to shed another tear ever again.

I need to get moving.

I need to find him. He's the only one left of them that I can trust. He can help me. He has always helped me. It took me years to track him down after those Italian bastards killed what I had left of my life. He's going to help me for sure once he finds out.

Damn it, those bastards are going to pay me back. I don't know how or who is going to help me. I might tear them piece by piece all by myself.

Ha. Great. More fun for me.

I got a crumbled paper out of my back pocket of my shorts and opened it up to reveal the address I was heading to. I need you more now than ever. Please help me Carlisle.
