Prelude: Plantae
Nelumbo nucifera Lotus, an aquatic perennial that can be grown from seeds over a thousand years old, flowers bloom in pinks and whites. Interestingly it is one of three species of plant known to be able to produce heat, regulating the temperature of it's flowers between 86 and 95 degrees fahrenheit.
Such interesting creatures, plants. Calmer than mammals, longer lasting than insects, without the need to leech off another like a fungus. Although fungi too have their uses, their own little quirks. They have personalities as well, though harder to determine than that of an animal. Slower, calmer, unrushed.
Yet they can also be vicious. A vine strangling a tree, depriving it of sunlight and life, or water from the skies. Personally, I -both of us- find them far easier to get along with than the others. Well, aside from Madara of course. He is quite like a member of the kingdom Plantae...not that he'd take it as a compliment. He and we are alike, in a way. We will probably both be standing when all the others have fallen to their mistakes and the quick nature of their lives.
Neither of us wear the affiliations, or former affiliations, of a village. He for his reasons, us for ours.
You're prattling on again. We should be working on cultivating the next shell...this one is beginning to die.
Of course.
If you're going to go on about things like that at least start from the beginning...
The beginning...yes. The beginning. During Madara's first fight for Konoha, when the first Clan Wars were raging. I...we remember hearing of them as children.
That's a pretty good beginning to our story, isn't it?
Author's Notes: Well, there it is. The first bit of Dianaea. Reviews are welcome, as are any constructive criticisms. I'm hoping up update at the very least once every other week, sometimes more if the muses strike me.
