Qrow was tired. He was tired from walking and tired from trying. He was sick of the cold of Argus, sick of the lies and the secrets, sick of trusting, sick of believing. He just wanted to stop thinking. He wanted to be free of everything. He was tired of living. Maybe that's why he did what he did. He knew walking away from Ruby was wrong, but he was just so tired. So he did the only thing he could think of, the only thing he knew. Drink.
He walked to a bar and sat down. Then he drank. He didn't care how much time had passed. He just kept drinking. Then he saw the roses. They were on the shelf, sitting innocently there. He tried to ignore them, but his eyes couldn't look away. Memories of her started flooding into his mind. Happy, sad and everything in between. It was for nothing. Everything she did, it was for nothing. Everything she stood for was for nothing. She died for nothing. Why even try at this point? He had no purpose. They didn't need him. Nobody needed him. He thought Oz needed him but now he knew that was nothing more than a lie. Everything was. What could he believe in? Nothing.
Nothing, nothing, nothing.
It echoed in his head the entire time. What was he supposed to do now? Was he ever important? No, he wasn't. He knew that now. He was nothing.
Nothing, nothing, nothing.
He lowered his head, tried to forget everything, drinking more and more. But he couldn't. He tried but he couldn't. He wanted to think of nothing.
Nothing, nothing, nothing.
He stumbled out of the bar. He ignored the sting of the cold hitting his face. He didn't know where he was going. He didn't care either. He just kept walking. People stared, some in concern, some in disgust. It didn't matter. He didn't care what they thought. They knew nothing.
Nothing, nothing, nothing.
He fell on some stairs, not knowing where he was, but feeling it was somewhere familiar. He knew he went too far this time, drank even more than usual, but he didn't care. He didn't know where he was or what he was saying or doing anymore. He didn't care. He felt nothing.
Nothing, nothing, nothing.
