Grace
My phone rang. That wasn't a major incident, but both me and Sam groaned. After slipping off his lap and giving him a gentle kiss, I crossed the distance between me and my bag to fish out my phone. The tune buzzed in my ears as I flipped it open.
"It's Cole." I whispered. Cole calling wasn't bizarre either, but it was usually earlier in the day.
"Grace?" The voice that came through the phone couldn't be Cole. This voice was quiet, shaking. Scared. I felt myself pale, and Sam crossed the room and pulled me in to his arms.
"Cole?" Sam murmured, leaning his head on my shoulder. "What happened?"
"It's Isabel. You need to come back. Please come back. Please." Cole didn't plead. Not like this, anyway. I didn't know him too well, but he couldn't be this scared.
"What happened to her?" My voice wobbled slightly. Isabel had been visiting Mercy Falls for Cole.
"She... she got bitten. I didn't mean to... we were just messing around and I bit her and we stopped. We had two weeks. " He trailed off. I could almost feel the tears emanating through the phone. "She changed once, and then she came back. She kissed me and went upstairs." I could hear him break down.
"Cole?" We asked, scared.
"It was my fault... we shouldn't have done that... I thought... It was the smallest, smallest cut." Cole was sobbing to the phone.
"Cole. What did she do?" Sam tightened his grip on me, and my breath shuddered.
"She went upstairs, in the bathroom. She stayed there for hours and I went to check and she... she... killed herself. She's dead."
