Peeta had just got home from work. It's already past 2 AM. Katniss was just flipping through random channels on the TV. Nothing much of this time, she thought.
He opened the door and saw Katniss wearing her pajamas and sitting on the couch.
"Hi." Peeta said as he plops down the couch as Katniss scoots over to the other side.
"Hey." she answers. Her eyes glued to the screen.
He just stared at her gray eyes. Until she finally felt that he was staring at her. She stared at him and gave him a smile.
"I missed you," he said to her as he draws near to her side. "Thanks for waiting for me. Again."
She smiled at him. It's been a while since they decided to move in together. She thinks about all the things they've been through, through thick and thin and everything. And now, look at them.
He decided to stand up which gave Katniss a look at him and asked where he will be going.
"I'll be back." he said as he gave her a quick peck on the cheeks.
It actually took him forever to get down that Katniss actually thought he wasn't going downstairs already. She decided to turn the TV off and get that blanket that she had been using on the couch. She was heading to the stairs until she heard footsteps. She stopped at the stairs.
"Sorry if I took so long." he mutters to her. He was fully dressed in his PJ's now.
"It's okay," she answered. "What's that for?" she asked him, pointing at the small radio in his right hand.
He grabbed one of her hands and went to the kitchen. He made her sit in their small dining area as he plugs the radio and puts on a cassette.
The melody of the song slowly begins to fill the air as he offer his hands to the sitting Katniss.
"May I, Miss Everdeen?" he asks her and smiles. She could feel herself blush.
"I believe it's Mellark now." she jokes as she accepts his hand.
They slow-danced to the sound of The Way You Look Tonight, hand in hand in the kitchen. They danced all around in there.
"What's this for?" she asks Peeta. Her head in his shoulders and her eyes closed, still dancing to the song.
"I just wanna say thanks for everything."
"But, this is too much." she whispers.
"It's just a song in a cassette and a small dance, nothing else. It's nothing much to your sacrifices for me way back." he says as he remembers what they've been through for the past years as leans his lips to the crown of her hair.
"I love you." she says in a really soft voice.
"I love you too, Katniss," he adds as they dance to the rhythm of the last stanza. "And the way you look tonight."
