A/N- Welcome to this story, written by me, theeShadyLady. Well, it's more of a poem... Actually it is a poem. But, anyways... I wrote this because of a request from chocolate-chip-cookie-monster. I even went back and reread the entire cave scene, just to get this right. Hope you like it, let me know (even if you don't.)
((DISCLAIMER: I do not own The Hunger Games.))
THE INEVITABLE FALL
.
I watch on a small screen
A scene that makes me want to scream.
I feel like closing my eyes
Wish I wasn't watching this show I despise.
.
That selfish baker boy
Acting like he is so coy,
Sneaking into her heart
And tearing my world apart.
.
With that one kiss
He stole the one I miss.
The cameras caught it all,
The inevitable fall.
.
He tells her his love story
And all my thoughts turn gory.
She says he has no competition
Which is now my only imposition.
.
If only it were all pretend,
Then this pain could come to an end.
It's killing me that I can be there
But I'm starting to wonder, does she care?
.
How could it be,
That she loves him, not me?
Saw it with my own eyes
Guess it shouldn't be such a surprise.
.
He's always had it out for me
Not that I'm one for jealousy,
Apparently he didn't read the sign,
Saying she should be mine.
.
But with that last kiss
He stole the one I miss.
The cameras caught it all,
The inevitable fall.
