Yet Another Star in The Sky
Prologue
Snow lines the earth. Polished, pure, pristine. Wind dances in the air, sky dimming with the sun's farewells.
A lone figure wanders along the winding path. Shadows seek to protect, obscuring the darkness of his clothes, of his hair, and of his eyes. While the whiteness of the snow pursue to absolve him of their grasp.
Once, he sought the lights embrace. Fighting the darkness in his dreams and in his mind. Years he spent desperately clutching to survive, not live, never live, but to survive the madness hunting for his blood. Then finally, finally, he rid the world of the darkness and all seemed well. And the summers flew by and the winters departed and one by one his loved ones went.
And he forgot, or tried to forget that nagging voice he knew he could not ignore. Ignore the oddities and ignore the uncertainties that hounded him after that final clash. But he could not and he would not. For when his lungs stopped needing air, and his heart stopped beating, and his mind stopped wondering what happened next, he knew. So later when time passed and it started all over again but this time a different tale, he was not surprised. Angry, bitter, sad, but not surprised. And so the cycle repeated.
Over and over the years went by and death both greeted and parted with him. He had many faces over the years; peasants, kings, creatures, warriors, scholars, inventors, and so many more. No matter the place, the gender, the time, the one consistency among it all was death's mark upon his soul. Accordingly he saw civilizations rise and kingdoms crumble. And more than once he came upon a name once read or even features of faces once loved. Various times leaving his own marks in history and time.
Therefore really, it shouldn't have surprised him he thought as he strolled through the snow toward the towering estate. Or continue to surprise him after all these years, when he realized his latest life and where or more importantly who he ended up with.
So as he watched the last of the suns rays bid goodbye and the night arrive with the stars twinkling and shining he wondered what exactly he planned to do next. And he traced a certain pattern in the sky. Cepheus. King of Aethiopia. His namesake. And so dearly wished to be among them instead of here on ground because honestly this could only happen to him and he really wondered whom he offended in some past life. So as he seemed to be doing so many times in this lifetime he mentally shrugged and decided to go along as he had for the past years. He was after all Harry Potter, Master of Death. More commonly known in this life as Cepheus Cygnus Black, the youngest child of Cygnus and Druella Black, younger brother to the infamous Black sisters.
Oh yeah, he definitely offended some higher deity.
So my very first fanfiction story! Have a vague idea as to where I'm going with this but for the most part I'm probably just going to write when inspired. Will be grateful for any constructive criticisms, comments, thoughts, and of course identifying those pesky grammar mistakes (which I am sure are numerous). Thanks for stopping by and hope you guys enjoyed. Until next time.
