Chowini Fanfiction

Chowder yawned as he watched Mung top off a three-layer cake with vanilla frosting. The young apprentice was bored not being able to help with the dish. He had tried to help bake the cake but Mung had told him to go play with Kimchi. Chowder was now wandering around the kitchen searching for something to occupy him. Eventually, he gave up and told Truffles he was going to go for a walk. As he strolled down Marzipan's busy streets, he noticed a pink bunny known as Panini watching him from the farmer's market. He sighed and pretended not to notice. He made his way to the city park and sat down on a park bench. Panini slowly approached him. Chowder glanced at her and turned his head away as if to not care. Panini wiped her paws on her yellow dress before speaking.

''Hey,Chowder?'' She asked, hoping to get his attention. Chowder didn't want to hurt her feelings, so he plastered a fake smile to his face and turned to her.

''Yeah, Panini?'' He responded in the nicest tone possible. Panini wrung her hands behind her back in a shy-like way.

''Well, I know that it was your birthday yesterday, so I convinced Miss Endive to help me bake you this batch of cookies.'' Panini motioned to the basket on the side of the bench. Chowder looked at her with a look of confusion.

''Not that I'm complaining, but why did you bake cookies for me?'' Chowder asked. Panini blushed and looked down to try to make it seem like nothing.

''I just felt bad for not getting you anything. Mung told me about your birthday. He said you turned 13.'' Panini answered. Chowder nodded. Panini picked up the hand-woven basket that contained the cookies and held it out to Chowder. The purple apprentice hesitated before accepting the basket of sugary treats.

''Go ahead. Try one. I did most of it myself.'' Panini beamed in pride. Chowder reached into the basket and pulled out a pink, heart-shaped cookie called a flart. He closed his eyes and bit into the cookie. It tasted different than the ones he'd had in the past. He opened his eyes to look at Panini. Suddenly, his vision began to blur. All he saw was a blob of color. His fragile body gave way as he fell onto the healthy grass. Panini gasped. She fell to her knees and began to lightly shake her crush.

''Chowder? Chowder! Wake up, Num-Nums!'' She pleaded as she let his head rest in her lap. Panicked, she picked up one of the dozen flarts and examined it. That's when she nearly screamed in terror. These were not ordinary flarts. Someone had added an extra, un-needed ingrediant: sleeping powder. She glanced at the 13 year-old apprentice laying before her. Panini pulled out her cell phone and dialed Mung Daal's number.

''Hello, Mung Daal's Catering Company. What can we help you with?'' Truffles' voice rang out through the speaker. Panini drew in a breath.

''Truffles! It's Panini! It's about Chowder!'' Panini cried.

''What's wrong with Chowder?'' Truffles asked worriedly.

''I baked him some flarts for his birthday but someone added sleeping powder to the batter when I wasn't looking! He won't wake up!'' She sobbed.

About ten minutes later, Mung, Truffles, and Shnitzel were at the park to tend to their apprentice.

''W-will he be okay, Mung?'' Panini asked nervously.

''Panini, calm down. It was just some sleeping powder. He'll be fine. I just have to give him this cloffee and he'll be awake.'' Mung said calmly. Mung opened his mouth as much as he could and poured the cloffee down Chowder's throat. Chowder groaned and sat up.

''Chowder!'' Panini cried as she engulfed him in a tight hug. Chowder looked at Panini with a scared expression and said, '' Panini, someone is planning to harm you.''
