Ed eyes the pumpkin with wariness. "What is that?" Ed asks as Roy comes up behind him.

"A pumpkin?"

"Thanks ever so much, smartass. I meant, what the hell is it doing sitting here on our porch?"

Roy shrugged and slid the key into the lock. "Hughes probably brought it over. He, Gracia and Elysia carve them every year, and if they have an extra they give it to me." He paused and looked down as Ed stopped through the door around him. "I guess they didn't know we were going to be out."

Ed loosened the tie around his neck. "We wouldn't have been if you hadn't been schmoozing with the other generals."

Roy let his mouth curve into a smile before he placed it on Ed's neck. "Will you forgive me?" he murmured into the soft skin. Ed made a noise and pulled free of Roy's grip.

"Don't even try it," Ed said levelling a look at Roy who just grinned and leaned forward to press a kiss against Ed's mouth.

"Do try not to hold my ambitions against me, would you love?"

Ed planted his fists on his hips as his face began to heat up. He couldn't even glare because when Roy called him "love" something inside just…melted. Roy draped his tie over his arm before undoing the first few buttons on his shirt. "Do you want to get in the shower first, or shall I?"

"Go ahead," Ed told him and wriggled his fingers, shooing him. "I'll be fine to wait."

Roy brushed his hand against Ed's shoulder and started for the stairs. "Don't eat all the cookies!" he called out as he ascended. Ed gave a low snarl but refrained from commenting.

Ed lounged on his stomach on the bed and mumbled praises to Roy who was giving him the most wonderful backrub in the history of backrubs. He hummed into the pillow happily and moaned softly as Roy scratched between his shoulder blades. Ed sighed happily and burbled into the pillow, "This must be what heaven feels like."

Roy gave a low laugh and stretched out next to Ed. "Is it?" He smoothed his hand down Ed's back and stopped at the dip. "Are you going to go back to Risembool?"

Ed turned onto his side and lay his head on Roy's shoulder. "I don't know. Why?" He toed the blankets.

"I was just curious is all." He pressed a kiss to Ed's forehead. "It doesn't matter. I just thought you might like to go for a visit."

Ed looked up at him suspiciously. "Are you planning anything?"

Roy laughed, shaking them both. "No, I'm honestly not."

Ed grinned and closed his eyes. "Just making sure."

Roy stuck the knife into the top of the pumpkin and began sawing. Ed peered over his shoulder, his chest pressed against Roy's arm. Ed grunted when Roy accidentally elbowed him in the stomach. Sulking, Ed slunk to the other side of the table to continue watching. He dropped down into the chair and propped his head on a fist. Roy popped the top of the pumpkin off and set it to the side. "Are you just going to watch or are you going to help?" Roy asked.

"I'm fine right where I am, thanks."

Roy stuck the scoop inside and plopped the innards into a bowl at his side. Ed wrinkled his nose. "That's disgusting."

Roy laughed and put the scoop to the side and stuck his hand in the pumpkin. He shifted the mess in his fingers and withdrew them. The process continued for the next twenty minutes until the pumpkin was empty. Ed stood from his chair and dragged the pumpkin across the table towards him. He snagged a knife that had been placed on the center of the table and stuck it into the pumpkin with glee.

Roy shook with laughter at Ed's shock. Ed chewed on his lower lip as he pondered. "I didn't think it was scary."

Roy shook his head with amusement. "They're children, what did you expect if you carved a gargoyle?"

"I wasn't scared of gargoyles when I was a kid!"

"You're abnormal, love," Roy said as he leaned down and kissed Ed.

"Fuck you too," Ed snarled at Roy, "When you least expect it I'm going to get you," Ed promised but he kissed Roy back anyways.
