Bieb. "Come in". Captain Janeway said. "Here are the results of the Engineering warp coil", Chakotay said while handing the padd. "Thank you Commander", she said while reading it. "Was there something else?" she said while looking up at him. "Actually there is", while he began walking towards the couch. Captain Janeway followed him and sat next to him. "Kathryn, there is a dance coming up, and I was wandering if you would want to be my dance partner?" "Me?" "But I am not good at dancing". "It doesn't matter, that's why it will be fun. "I'm not good at dancing either", Chakotay said while touching her hand. Kathryn took a deep breath and said: "All right, let's do it". "Great, so will I pick you up at 21.00 hours at you quarters?" Did he just ask me on a date? She thought. "Yes, that will be fine".
Chakotay smiled at her and left.
Bieb. "Come in, Chakotay". "I'll be there in a few minutes". Chakotay looked around him. Wow, I bet she will look great. Perhaps I can see if she likes me. He thought. "I'm all ready", she said while walking towards him. "Kathryn, you look amazing", Chakotay said trying not to blush. "You don't look too bad yourself", she commented while looking at him. "Shall we go then?" he said while reaching out his arm. "Absolutely", Kathryn replied while putting her arm in his.
"Welcome everyone, to this special dance". "I hope you all enjoy it", Neelix anounced. "I hope you will all have a great time: Enjoy!" The music started to play and Chakotay asked Kathryn to dance. "Well, I thought you'd never ask", she said while smiling at him. It was a slow song, so Chakotay had an advantage of getting Kathryn to like him...
Kathryn had put her head on Chakotay's chest. Chakotay felt his emotions getting more and stronger. "Kathryn?" He asked after a while. "Do you like me?" "Of course I like you, you're my friend", she answered. "Well, there's something I need to confess to you". "Yes, go ahead". Chakotay took a deep breath and then pulled her close to him. She looked up to him and he looked her in the eye. For a moment nothing else existed but them. Then Chakotay kissed her. At the beginning she was frightened but then she kissed back. When they broke the kiss, Chakotay smiled at her, hoping she would smile back: she did. With that they kissed again until they went back to the Captains quarters.
