Title: Make It Work

He carefully takes a hold of Sebastian's hand. "I know it isn't easy," Kurt says. "Trusting someone is never easy. But please. Please try to trust me, just a bit. I know we can make this work."
Sebastian's shaky breaths are the only sounds in Kurt's silent room and green eyes are locked on the hands that are holding on to each other. "How can you be so sure?" Sebastian asks, and while his voice is soft, Kurt is surprised at how steady it is. "I know, I like you and you like me. But we argue and bitch at each other all the time. Neither of us has much experience with relationships. You dated one guy and everyone and their mother knows my track record. Why do you even want to try this with me?"
"Because I care about you," Kurt says. His other hand goes through Sebastian's hair and then slides underneath his chin so Kurt can make Sebastian look at him. "I know we won't have a perfect relationship." He snorted softly. "And a perfect relationship isn't what I want. I had one of those and it's boring. I want someone that challenges me. Someone who doesn't care that I can be really mean and sarcastic at times and instead will push back or call me out on it when I go too far. Bas, I don't want perfect, I want you."
"But what if I mess it up?" Sebastian asks, worry clear in his voice. Kurt softly squeezes his hand as he continues. "I've never been with anyone for more than two days. What if I cheat on you? I mean, I don't want to, but what if that is just who I am? I don't want to hurt you."
"And you won't," Kurt says like it's a fact. "You will not cheat on me. We may hurt each other in other ways, but we will not cheat. We respect each other too much to do that. I know that if you decide that you don't want to be with me that you will talk to me." Kurt sighs at the look of disbelief that Sebastian has on his face. Kurt slowly rubs his thumb over the cheek of the other guy and Sebastian leans a bit into the touch.
"But we are arguing already. How can we ever make this work?" Sebastian asks. But Kurt knows him to well. He can see the glint of hope in the green eyes. So he smiles.
"We're not arguing, we're discussing and I'm quite confident that I can convince you that I'm right."
"That would be a first," is the automatic answer. Sebastian blinks when he realizes what he said and then smiles at the grin on Kurt's face.
"See? That is why I like you so much. I like it when you're cocky and-"
"You'll like it even more when I'll get cocky with you in a different way." Kurt can only shake his head at that.
"Should have seen that one coming," he mutters, but he's happy that Sebastian is getting his attitude back. It's really disconcerting for him to see Sebastian all emotional and worried. Of course it isn't all good now. Sebastian's worries don't just disappear and Kurt knows they'll probably have a long way to go before Sebastian really believes they can work as a couple, but he also knows that once they're in, they'll both give it their all.
"So, we're really going to do this?" Sebastian asks. "I'll be your boyfriend?" Even though there is his cocky grin on his face, it still shines through that he is uncertain. Kurt leans forward and presses a kiss to the opposite cheek than the one his hand is on.
"And I will be yours," he answers and he shifts a bit to kiss Sebastian on his lips. It starts out chaste but deepens quickly. Kurt only moves his head back for a moment to whisper against Sebastian's mouth before diving in again. "I'll be yours."
