"No! I won't let you die!" As soon as he said that, I knew what he was about to do. Three years, and he hadn't changed. He was always the most protective of us four. I think it was because he was the oldest.

Instinctively, I darted forward, forgetting about the large gap. Not that I could have reached him in time anyway. Even if there wasn't a gap… even if my wounds didn't protest just then and send me to my knees… I was too far away.

So I just watched as Felix jumped off the Lighthouse after Sheba. Again… again, I watched him disappear from sight…

Again, I watched my dear friend die.

"You idiot, Felix!" I heard Garret exclaim. "I can't believe he said that he'd light the other beacons!" Garret, why do you even care about that? He jumped from the lighthouse. …Do you dislike… hate… him that much Garret? And now he talks of Jenna… right, Jenna… where…?

…Oh, Venus… I have to tell Jenna about Felix…

The others continued to talk, but I didn't listen. Just kept staring at that spot. Where Sheba had fallen… where Felix had jumped…

A tremor shook me from my thoughts. The lighthouse… pieced itself back together? I could live forever and not understand how that worked.

"All right!" Garret cheered. "Come on! It's time to find Jenna!" Mia and Ivan nodded. What was the fixation on Jenna? Sure, she's a dear friend… and yes, there was a chance at her being alive… but…

I let them go ahead and I walked to the spot. I looked down… I think halfway expecting to see their bodies… but there was only water. Water at the Venus lighthouse… the lands below had flooded… I hope the people at the base were able to escape…

I sighed, trying to come to grips with what just happened. Four lives… four lives were lost atop this lighthouse… Saturos and Menardi… Felix and Sheba…

The light at my back was warm. Was Venus trying to soothe my troubled thoughts? I almost chuckled…

…wait… what was… I looked out over the sea, scanning the horizon. Something… …Why did I sense Felix still? Even if he were alive, the sheer distance should have…

Venus… are you telling me he's alive?

"Isaac!" Startled, I whirled, to see Ivan, Garret, and Mia looking at me. "Come on! We need to go!"

"Be right there…" I looked back once more at the sea before walking to my friends.

Felix… I think I'll place faith in Venus. I'll place faith in that your alive… and faith in you as well. Diving from the Lighthouse after a stranger… you haven't changed at all, have you? So… there must be a good reason for lighting the Lighthouses.

So you had better not die until we meet again. I will never forgive you if you die without explaining.

Author's notes:

…Okay, another one where I've no clue where it came from… well, somewhat. I initially started writing this as a… well, it just didn't seem "in character" for the group to suddenly forget about Felix at the mention of Jenna. I mean… well, for Ivan and Mia, it makes a little sense because they only know Felix as an enemy, but Garret and Isaac? Not really… So… I've got it where Isaac does continue to worry about Felix… and Garret doesn't. Why? Because Felix betrayed Vale. Garret seems like a person who doesn't forgive betrayals easily, so… ^^;;;

As for the last part… Isaac was a close friend of Felix, both are Venus Adepts, and Isaac's standing at the newly-lit Venus lighthouse… I figured there might be… oh, I don't know… some kind of connection between them? Its stretching, I'm certain, but Isaac mentions in Dark Dawn about the forest "telling" him about Tyrell's condition, so… why not have Venus assuring Isaac that Felix is alive?
