Author's note: OK, first of all, I've made this fan-fic to introduce an infected OC for Left 4 Dead, much like my Siren fic. Valve owns the Left 4 Dead series, but I own the character portrayed in his fan-fic. I have 3 ideas for infected & this is one of them. Enjoy!
CEDA Files
Date of Report: 2/9/2011
Infected Name: Chomper aka. Teeth, Vampire, Dracula, Deformed Jockey, Fangs, Bloody Boy, Cannibal, Maniac & Mr. Hyde.
This infected seems to be the most dangerous anyone can encounter. CEDA have named these things The Chomper, and for a good reason!
Description:
The Chomper can be compared to Baraka from Mortal Kombat. Their skin is wrinkled, they have completely white eyes, parts of their face are torn up, mostly their ears and they have bits of white hair on their heads.
Their teeth are what make them dangerous. They are yellow with red stains of blood. Often, Chompers would be seen wearing normal casual attire that has been torn up and bloody. They also have long nails that are roughly 5cm in length. Usually, they stand like normal, but before attacking, they crouch down to lower visibility.
Often, Chompers are male, but there are some female Chompers as well, although they are not as common as male Chompers.
Extent of mutation:
Chances are, the Chompers were either cautious of dental hygiene or had some form of tooth infection before they were infected.
Method of Attack:
Chompers are often compared to Hunters & Jockeys in terms of attacking. Chompers run around an area, growling and roaring. Some even report seeing Chompers running around, swatting the air as if they're fighting an invisible predator.
Upon noticing a survivor, it crouches much like a Hunter. Often when crouching, Chompers are mistaken for Jockeys since they have the same position.
They'll run at a survivor and leap at them like a Jockey. As they are airborne, they'll roar loudly and open their mouths, ready to attack.
Once they land on a survivor's torso, they will proceed to bite into the victim's neck whilst clinging on, so they won't fall off. They'll also steer the survivors at other hazards whilst they bite much like Jockeys.
They seem to bite through the skin and muscle and chomp on blood vessels in the neck.
Bear in mind, once a Chomper has a survivor, it'll not jump off until either its victim bleeds to death or it gets killed.
Witnesses also said they were attacked by Chompers, after they thought they killed it. They seem to play dead before getting up and attacking again.
Behaviour around other infected:
Chompers sometimes bite common and special infected. Boomers tend to avoid Chompers, presumably because if they get bitten, they'll explode. Hunters, Chargers & Tanks often pick fights with them. Spitters, Jockeys, Smokers and Witches will often ignore Chompers unless one disturbs them.
Survival Tips:
Listen out for it distinctive growls and roars. If one is heard, locate and try to avoid it if possible.
If a Chomper goes after you or your friend, DO NOT stand still and shoot at it. Chompers can jump up to 6 feet moving forward. Instead, shoot at it whilst running away. If it does jump, there'll be little chance of it catching someone.
Should a Chomper catch you, try and move towards other survivors. Chances are they'll be able to kill it.
NEVER let a Chomper catch you if you're on your own. Survivors are 10 times more likely to be killed when they're on their own than with a group.
If a survivor is being bitten by a Chomper, kill it as quickly as possible. It only takes 20 seconds for a survivor to bleed to death from a Chomper attack.
If a survivor is killed, do not attempt to kill the Chomper. There's nothing that'll stop them from attacking you.
If the Chomper is killed, shoot its body again to make sure it's dead.
