Wonderful Surprise
(Yet another Sonic production, but this time it's focused on an underappreciated pairing, Vector and Vanilla. I just think of these two as being a very possible couple, so that's why I want to give them the respect I believe they deserve.)
Vector smiled as he looked at the calendar. He had circled a particular day on the month. Tomorrow was going to be Vanilla's birthday. Charmy was next to him, noticing the bright smile on his face. The little bee looked over at Vector.
"What are you looking at?" Charmy asked. Vector was caught by surprise at first, but when he looked to notice his small partner he smiled.
"Hey there, Charmy. Tomorrow's Vanilla's birthday." Vector explained. "You mean that girl rabbit that you really like?" Charmy asked. Vector was alarmed when he heard that. "What? Are you ridiculous or something? Of course not!" Vector responded, clearly annoyed by the young bee's teasing.
"Come on, you've known her for a long time. It's obvious that you like her, so why do you deny it?" Charmy asked. Vector sighed; as much as he couldn't tolerate when Charmy made of him, he knew that he was right. He did really like Vanilla and pretty much would do anything to make her happy, and he had shown that very well by taking care of Cream while Vanilla was out.
"That's true. But the reason I deny it is because I can't really explain my feeling to her." Vector explained. Charmy had a bit of a thought to himself. As much as he wasn't open to the idea of romance, he knew that Vector needed help and he had an idea on how to do it.
"Vector, I think I have an idea." Charmy said. He whispered his plan to Vector and Vector brightly smiled when he heard this. "Charmy, that's perfect! I better hurry!" Vector said and he headed out almost immediately while Charmy watched on with a smile.
That night, everything was calm at Cream's house. Everyone had left after the party and now the only people left in the house were Cream, Vanilla and Emerl. "Did you like your party, Mum?" Cream asked. Vanilla smiled at her one daughter.
"Yes, I did. It was really nice of you to invite your friends; I always look forward to when they visit you." Vanilla explained. "I do, too." Cream agreed. Just then the two could hear a knock on the door.
"Emerl, could you see who that is?" Cream asked. "Sure." Emerl responded. He went over to the door and opened it to see that it was Vector. "Oh hello, Vector." Emerl smiled. "Hey there, Emerl." Vector said. As glad as he was to see his robot friend, he mostly came to see Vanilla.
"Hello, Vector. It's really nice to see you." Vanilla said. She could see that Vector had one hand behind his back; it made her wonder what he had for her. "Vanilla, it took me a while to find this. But I wanted to get you a good present. Happy Birthday." Vector said and gave a small square present.
Surprised, Vanilla unwrapped it to see a small blue box and she opened the box to see a wonderful diamond ring. She smiled to see this. "It's beautiful. Thank you, Vector." Vanilla said. But she was surprised when Vector knelt down and got the ring out of the box.
"Vanilla, I've known you for a long time. But I was never able to understand how I felt about you until now. I love you, and I want to be able to share that with you. Will you marry me?" Vector asked.
Vanilla smiled when she heard this; she never imagined this for such a while. "Vector, I would be honoured to." Vanilla responded. Hearing this, Vector slipped the ring on Vanilla's finger and the two happily kissed. Cream and Emerl being the only two there clapped for them.
Vanilla could never been happier than she was now to be able to experience this. Vector felt so glad to take this chance, and it turned out better than he expected.
