Standing on subway whistling a tune when suddenly the doors open up. I see out of the corner of my eye a tall gentleman in a suit bored the train, and stand behind me. The train leaves the station and begins picking up speed in the tunnels. The train starts to bump and jostle, a sign that we are still accelerating, and the tall man behind me accidentally bumps me. The bumping continues for at least ten minutes. I stop whistling and speak to the tall man without really looking at him.
"Sir, would you mind backing up a bit. Your constant bumping me has become quite irritating."
The tall man says nothing, and continues to bump me. So angrily i turn and look at him. As i realize who im staring at i attempt to scream, no sound comes out. The train slows down and we hear a distinct Ding Dong over the speaker system. The doors open, and all the people save for the tall man and me exit. I slowly move away from him and take a seat all the way on the other end of the train car. I avoid staring at him. The train pulls out of the station. As we speed through the tunnels i notice the lights flickering in a distinct pattern. Every third light we pass under, the lights flicker off then back on. I begin keeping time in my head, to attempt to clear my mind of the tall man in the train car with me. 5 minutes pass, i've been repeating the same rhythm in my head for those 5 minutes. On on off, on on off. again and again. Then suddenly i feel it... something was bumping the back of my head, in the beat of the light flicker. Bump bump halt, bump bump halt. I turn my head to see the tall man starring directly at me. A moment passes, then the tall man proceeds to bump his forehead against mine in the beat of the light flickers.
"what do you want from me" i whisper in terror.
The train again makes the Ding Dong noise and we stop at my stop. I dart of the train car and hurry out of the terminal. I make my way to street level, and finally stopping to breath at a crosswalk. The light is on, don't walk. So i stand amongst a crowd of people waiting to cross the street. I wait with them, but for some reason the light feels like its taking longer to change then usual. Then a horrifying chill runs down my spine as i feel a gentle bump on my shoulder. I slowly turn my head, and there behind me stands the tall man. Slowly tapping his forehead against my shoulder again and again. The light changes to walk. I run. I run and run and run, until i finally reach my house. i look at the front door and let out a sigh of relief.
"Finally safe from tha-"
My words disappear as i feel another bump on my shoulder. I do not turn my head. I sigh... i realize i cannot escape him. I turn to look him in his blank featureless face. He does not bump me. I stare at him, and i can only assume he was doing the same to me. Then he holds out his hand, it is clenched around something. I hold my hand out, my entire body is quaking with fear, and he drops a crumpled piece of paper into my hand. I un-crumple it. On it are two words, written in what looked like charcoal. I read it out loud
"YOUR IT"
I looked back to the tall man, but he was no longer their. Instead a small girl in a dress stood before me. She giggled and waved. She said something odd.
"Thanks for the game mister"
I was confused by what she meant, but i decided it best to just say your welcome.
".."
I attempted to speak, but for some reason no words came out. i tried again, but still no words came out. The girl turned and ran away giggling. I put my hand out, and tried to yell WAIT. But it was to late. I saw my hand, and my arm... i was wearing a suit. I looked in a mirror, i had no face, and i was tall as a street lamp. I understood what the note meant now... so i headed for the train station.
