I turned around again. The double bed we always shared felt so cold without him. Without his warm chest or his hands wrapped around me.
I don't even remember anymore when the last time he didn't sleep next to me was…
I reached to his side of the big bed and caressed the cold felling sheets. Like his warmth never was there, I thought.
Then my fingers touched something. Something soft and it wasn't a pillow for sure. It was bigger. I pulled it closer.
"What the…?" I whispered as I realized what the thing was. It was pink and it had light blue eyes. It had long ears, feet and arms. "He still had it?" The bunny plushie I gave him a few years ago as a birthday present… I was so sure that he had thrown it away ages ago, since he didn't seem to like it. How it was here anyway?
But… It seemed kind of worn out. I smiled and hugged it closer. His scent still lingered on it. I breathed the scent in again and again. It comforted me, like he was right next to me again. I buried my face into the plushie.
"B-Bunny-chan… I-" I began, but was interrupted by the sound of front door closing.
"BUNNY!" I practically wanted to yell, but I just didn't want him to know that I stayed up till, what? I glanced at the clock. 2 am? I've been trying to get sleep for 2 hours already?
The bedroom's door opened and closed and he came in. "Kotetsu-san?" He whispered. I kept hugging the plushie and didn't answer. I heard footsteps going around the bed and he sat on his side. He crawled a bit, so he was next to me and I could almost feel that he was staring at me.
I felt a light kiss on my cheek, then heard the words "I'm home…"
He slipped under the covers and wrapped his hands around me.
…And before I noticed, I was already asleep.
Something little I wrote... It's quite random, but I ended up liking it xD
PS. It's not fun to sleep alone in an old house xDD
