Title: Rêves

Pairing: Sasusaku

Word Count: Little bit more than a drabble: 345 words.

Disclaimer: Crys does not own Naruto. If she did, she would have already made Sakura kick a certain Chiken-ass-haired traitor's ass.

Running around, holding her hand and kissing her senseless were some of the things Sasuke dreamt of.

He knew they could never happen, and took pleasure in acting them out in his dreams, where the doors were closed and the world was silent; where she wasn't trying to kill him.

In his dreams, Sasuke held her carefully, blissfully, took her small chin in his hand and slowly kissed her, gently, chastely, like a bird feeding at left-over bread or a wood-pecker making his home in the tree. She would laugh, dissolve in giggles and he would smile that private smile he had for her. The one she never saw in real life. He would gently meld their mouths together, sealing them, opening up his mouth and his heart at the same time.

And he let her into his soul.

(At times, he dreams she cries at this point, and smiles a smile so beautiful it cleanses his putrid heart.

She is his salvation.)

And while they kiss and touch and fumble with each other's clothes – hers are pure white, while his are a dark blood red – she laughs and giggles, and he smiles that private smile only for her, the Sakura of his dreams, the one that is still his; the one who never stopped loving him.

When Sasuke wakes up, his face is blank and weary, his muscles are contracted tightly and he feels his spine pop when he stretches. His team is still sleeping and the sun is still hidden by the horizon. Sasuke sighs and starts preparing for training.

When Karin wakes up, she takes a look at his dark eyed gaze and thinks he dreamt of his brother. She doesn't know that his nightmare is of another kind.

(In his dreams, she never comes to him.

He always

reaches out

towards her.)

And from your lips she drew a Hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah…
