Summary: What if after Sam shouted "go now" the grenade was dropped? What would happen to Sam? How would Jules react? How would Team 1 react?

First Chapter will be Narrative then the next chapters will be Team 1's POV's of the after event.
Chapter 1: What Went Wrong?
"Go Now." Sam screamed to the right and Ed quickly shot from the left. Neither could stop the Grenade as it was dropped though as soon as Sam shouted "Go". With a loud BANG the Grenade exploded instantly killing both the man and Sam. Time seemed to freeze to Team 1. Sargent. Greg Parker ran to Sam's body quickly checking for a pulse. He didn't find one. Ed and Lew quickly ran to their boss. "He's gone." Greg whispered to them.
"Spike" Ed called to him.
"Yeah Ed" Spike returned.
"The grenade was dropped and-"
"Is Sam okay?" Spike interrupted.
"Spike, he didn't make it." As soon as Ed told him Spike went quiet.
"Greg, Ed" Wordy called.
"Wordy" Both returned.
"Agent Simple is gone Donna took the shot."
"Wordy the grenade went off and Sam didn't make it." Ed told his teammate sadly.
"No" Wordy whispered.
"Team 1 Wordy interrupted we will go debrief and then I'll go inform Jules." Greg commanded.
"Poor Jules" Spike whispered sadly.
Time Break
"Sam shouted "Go now" and the grenade was dropped." Spike read to Team 1 and Donna who had been cleared. "This instantly killed both subjects."
"We know what happened, Spike there was nothing anyone could have done to save Sam. Let's just all go home." Greg Parker spoke.
"Alright, everyone stays in contact for the next two weeks. Feel free to call anyone at anytime and don't drown yourselves in alcohol."
Everyone slowly changed grabbing their clothes and left except Greg Parker who sat silently staring into the darkness of the briefing room. Pondering what he could have done to save Sam.
