AUTHOR'S NOTE: Okay so for the past day, I've been very overly obsessed with Beauty and the Beast (Disney Version of course), and there is this one scene I feel has a lot of emotion behind it and I wanted to try to write a oneshot showing both people's feelings. Enjoy!

"This mirror will you show you anything, anything you wish to see." Said the beast, holding it out to Belle who took it, starring at her own reflection, as if scared what the mirror would show her.

"I'd like to see my father, please." She asked her deep brown eyes staring into the glass. The mirror glowed a green and shined too bright, Belle turned her head way closing her eyes for a brief moment, only for them to open again so she could see what was happening in where her reflection use to be.

Belle's father's hat flew off in the strong wind blowing in the snowy forest, as he stumbled onto the frozen ground with a groan, giving a few hacking coughs.

"Papa," Whispered Belle terrified, her eyes only for the scene in front of her. She shook her head willing it not to be true. "Oh no." The Beast looked at her in confusion as she explained, more to herself then to him. "He's sick," She glanced up at Beast in then back to the mirror. "he may be dying, and he's all alone." She looked back to the Beast desperately wanting to ask if she could leave to help him.

Beast turned to the rose and stroked the glass around it, thinking quickly. He glanced up staring out the window. He knew what he had to do even though it pain him to say it, he closed his eyes as he said, not looking at her. "Then," He took a breath that almost sounded like a gasp. "you must go to him."

"What, what did you say?" She asked, holding the mirror to her chest staring at his back which was turned to her.

"I release you." He answered. "You are no longer my prisoner."

"You mean, you mean I-I'm free?" She clarified stuttering slightly.

"Yes." He sighed finally opening his eyes.

"Oh, thank you." She said sounding slightly relived but also rushed as she turned and said to the mirror. "Hold on Papa, I'm on my way." She stopped for a second and offered it back to the beast who pushed it gently back towards her.

"Take it with you." He told her. "So you always have a way to looked back," He lifted her hair slightly with his paw, letting it slowly letting it go. "and remember me." He added softly.

She smiled and looked up him. "Thank you for understanding how much he needs me." She made to leave but turned around again and rested her hand on his face for a moment, he stared after her sadly as she left.

A smiling Cogsworth entered the room the second Belle had left. "Well your highness, I must say, everything is going just swimmingly. I knew you had it in you." He laughed a little as he made his way over to Beast.

"I let her go." He whispered leaning against the table with the rose staring out over the balcony.

Cogsworth chuckled again. "Yes yes, splen- you, what? How could you…do that?"

"I had too."

"Yes but, but why?"

"Because," The Beast said finally realizing what he should have admitted a long time ago. "I love her."

As Beast watched Belle's retreating figure as she left the castle on her horse, he let out a roar of agony.
