Rain was lightly hitting the windows with a repetitive tap-tap. He used to love it when it rained. He loved it because HE would hold him in his arms. He always felt so secure in those strong arms of his lover.
Joey sighed for what seemed like the hundredth time that hour. He was dressed in formal black for the funeral. A few days ago the accident happened. No one really saw it coming. The Kaiba brothers were on their way back from a vacation that Mokuba convinced Seto to take.
Joey could feel tears start to fall down his cheeks as he thought of the conversation he had had with Seto before the two took off for Europe.
Flashback
Joey was in the shower when he heard the phone ring. 'Damn it. What the hell do these people want!' Joey thought as he quickly turned the water off and grabbed a towel. Walking out of the bathroom with a towel around the waist he grabbed the phone.
"Hello?" Joey asked over the phone agitated.
"Joey? This is Seto. Mokuba managed to con me into a vacation in Europe so I was just calling to tell you that Mokie and I won't be here for a couple of months and that I love you…."
The other line clicked off before Joey had a chance to reply. Joey blinked his eyes owlishly a couple of times before hanging the phone up and heading back to the bathroom to continue his shower.
End Flashback
Tears were falling freely down his cheeks now. 'Somehow…he knew. Seto knew this might've happened. That's why he said he loved me… and I didn't say anything back. How could I've been so conceited?' Joey thought to himself as he walked into the funeral home out of the rain. Into the place were Mokuba and Seto were being put to rest, for ever…
