Don't you feel sometimes that life has little or no meaning whatsoever? You wake up, brush your teeth, pick the outfit you usually wear this day of the week, and head out the door. You walk the same distance to get to the bus stop and you wait like a patient lamb for it to come. You always find the same people waiting there: the guy with earrings on every part of his body, the girl who pays over $10,000 on her cell bill but who is still talking, and the professional lawyer who curses at his coworkers on the phone and complains about the lateness of the buss. Days go by and you only live the same routine, over and over.

This was Rain Mikamuras life… dull and bothersome. She got on the bus, and sat on her usual chair, looking out the window. The same buildings seemed to greet her, and she seemed to take particular interest in the life others had on the street. She thought nobody paid attention to others, and she was probably right. People got on and off the bus, and Rain looked at her watch. It was 10 to 7am, her day about to start. Finally, she slowly pressed the yellow panel, and the bus stopped on the corner of Liberty St. She walked a few steps and a door automatically opened. As she walked in the familiar face of the custodian greeted her, and she faked a smile. The café on the corner was opened, and she saw some of her co-workers getting the ice latte on sale. She finally reached the elevator and slipped in it. As the numbers started going up she sighed a few times. She looked at her watch and it was 6:58. She was on time, like always. As the door opened, the 4th floor scenario appeared in front of her eyes. Sally was running around with the red carpets, Sam was cleaning the floors, Lily was sitting down typing the shift's report , and Madeline was dozing in front of her computer. A few more steps revealed Morgan collecting the dirty laundry, Seed was checking his assigned rooms, and Cody was flirting with Cathy, like always.

"Good morning Dr. Mikamura! You want your usual hot choc. Or will you switch today to the dark side and have frappuccinos like us?"-grinned Sally, with a pleading tone.

Yes… this was Rain Mikamuras life.

"No, thank you Sally. I'll stick with the hot chocolates."-Rain replied, the same faint smile cornering her lips. "How bad is it today?"

"Well… we got every room filled, ranging from bilateral pneumonias to "please-marry-me" proposals. You tell me doctor! I can't miss my date with Bobby today, but I don't think we'll be out by 7 tonight."

"OK… I'll change clothes and start."

"Hey Rain!"

Rain turned around, and met Seed.

"Dr. Spiegel, good morning"- Rain smiled as the doctor approached. He was 26, single, great looking. What was not to love about him? Dark green eyes, fully red lips, tanned skin, great personality, plus incredibly smart. Every girl would've liked a man like him. Yet, Rain was scared of his perfection, and had decided long time ago to keep him as a dear friend.

"So, when will you be free to go out with me?"-his usually greeting made Rain smile. Seed looked at her with his big eyes and gave her a Colgate smile. Rain turned around and started picking up the red carpets of her patients.

"Seed, some day… you know how busy we are. Is Mrs. Watson better today?"

"We'll always be busy, give me a chance, and yes, she's much better. Her BP is normal now."

"I'm glad. I have the EMR today."

"Ouch! Good luck!"

"Thanks …" Rain started to head to room 410 when she heard Seed's voice "Say… I pick you up at 7 today? Parking deck?"

"No"

"Rai-Dr. Mikamura!!!"

Rain waved at him and opened came into the alleged room. A lady with bifocals smiles at her and Rain watched as the nurses cleaned off her poop. It was going to be a long day…
