So I watched the Lion King yesterday and when Mufusa fell I was like hey what a minute what if Robin saw this what would he say or think and this popped into my mind so here it is…..
I OWN NOTHING
POV – everyone's thoughts narrator tells story.
It was a quiet day at mount justice until Wally West a.k.a. ran in screaming, "Oh man I totally wish I could go see the Lion King in 3D."
"What is the Lion King?" Surprisingly Robin asked.
"Dude you've never seen the Lion King? Okay M'gann, Superboy, Artemis, Kaldur come here."
"What Baywatch?" Artemis growled.
"We are watching the Lion King." Wally demanded.
"This sounds like a good team bonding exercise Wally let us watch the movie." Kaldur spoke. Wally put in the movie and everyone loved it until Mufusa fell. M'gann scream huddling into Superboy's chest who told her that it was okay, Wally looked sad for the poor lion cub as did Kaldur and Artemis face was unemotional but you could see a tiny smidge of sadness for Simba. Robin's reaction was the worst though he screamed in horror and pain and his face dove into the pillow while his lithe body shook with sad pain-filled sobs. The whole team froze heads turning in disbelief at their youngest teammate's reaction. Wally quickly paused the movie and made is way over to his best friends shaking body. "Rob, what's wrong Rob?" Wally quietly asked with his arms spread apart. In answer Robin jumped into his arms and buried his face into the speedster's chest sobbing the whole entire time. "Robin what is wrong?" Wally asked. "Robin experiences much pain I can feel it coming off him in waves, so much pain." M'gann whimpered.
Time Break
Robin ended up crying in Wally's arms for three hours before his long loud heartbreaking sobs became quick quiet whimpers. Eventually he fell asleep in Wally's arms. The team stood there astounded at the events that had just occurred.
"May I suggest that we call Batman and inform of the past events." Kaldur broke the long silence.
"Yes I think we should Kaldur." Wally muttered as he looked down at his best friend.
"Batman?" Kaldur asked on the comm.
"What is it Aqualad?" Batman's voice came on.
"We watched the Lion King and Robin-" Kaldur started but was interrupted by Batman who said, "I'm on my way."
Batman arrived only a minute later swishing in ignoring the announcement of his arrival that echoed throughout the mountain. "Robin how are you?" The Caped Crusader asked his young sidekick quietly. "I'm okay." The Boy Wonder answered tiredly after just waking up. "I guess I should explain." The young child spoke as he turned to his mentor and the two seemed to start a silent conversation. "When I was younger I witnessed some people fall to their deaths. I knew these people and they were very kind and I guess watching Mufusa fall…..well it triggered that memory and it hurt."
"The pain overpowered him." Batman told Young Justice.
"I'll take him back to the Bat Cave." He finished giving a quick nod in what would have been thanks for everyone else.
"Thanks KF." Robin thanked his friend and turned to his team, "Thanks guys." He quickly turned and left smiling slightly although if anyone looked really hard they could see the pain that lay hidden in his eyes.
