Hey! I have to say, 4x04 really killed me. Not just because of the breakups, but also because it seemed very unrealistic to me. So, therefore, I must replace it weigh an equally unrealistic but less...final version. The next few chapters will be longer. Thanks for reading! I don't own anything.

Kurt was numb, curling in on himself in a helpless attempt to hide from the truth. Blaine had been so cold, so emotionless when he delivered the news. As if none of what they had mattered. It hadn't been until Kurt had, in tears, broken up with him that a single tear ran down Blaine's cheek. God, how he wanted to reach out and wipe it away, comfort his Blaine. But he wasn't his Blaine anymore. It was unbelievable. His Blaine wouldn't have cheated. His Blaine would have cried. His Blaine knew that what they had was forever. Not just a high school romance, not even simply love. Forever. Kurt didn't know what to do. So he cried. He cried for himself, for lost love, for the rift between his best friend an his step-brother. He would never be the same.
It had been three days. He and Rachel had drowned their sorrows in a pint of Ben and Jerry's- each- and a Broadway marathon. By the time they got to Wicked, both were miserable but able to, at the very least, function. Until I'm Not That Girl came on. Cue round two of ice cream and tears. Unable to sit through anymore, Kurt knew what he had to do.
"Kurtsie!"
"Nick? But.."
"Oh, sorry. Jeff!"
There was a fumble on the other side of the line, and Kurt sat patiently.
"Kurt?"
"Jeff. Thank Gaga."
" I heard about Bla-...him. How are you holding up?"
"I'm okay."
"Don't lie to me."
Somehow, the blond boy had become one of his closest friends while he was at Dalton.
Kurt sank onto the bed and flopped back. "I'll be okay. "
"I just can't believe it! Blaine's not a cheater," Jeff said softly from the other side of the line.
"Neither can I," whispered Kurt," But people make mistakes. "
"Then are you going to forgive him?"
Kurt bit his lip. "I can't. Not yet, anyway. I just want...closure, I guess. "
"Are you going to talk to him?"
"Yes. I just want to know about Eli. "
"Eli?"
" The new Warbler Blaine...was with. What's he like?"
"Kurt, there's no Eli in the Warblers. Are you sure that's his name?"
" I would know. Jeff, there's no Eli? Or Elijah? No one?"
"No one. "
Kurt's heart suddenly started beating faster. "Jeff, I'm gonna have to call you-"
" I get it. Go. "
Kurt hung up, sitting up from his crumpled position. Then, in a flurry of movement, he stood and grabbed his coat. "Rachel!"
