Summary: Someone dwells on what might have been.

It's a beautiful morning. The sun is bright and the skies are clear. Birds chirp and the smell of the fresh air, the flowers, and the leaves lifts my spirit. I begin with the household chores, as usual and by the time I am done, it's soon to be dinner. I get the fish that would be cooked and start a fire.

"Mama?" the girl coughs. "It's not fair I couldn't go."

My dear daughter, the second oldest of the three. She's so beautiful; she has her father's eyes, and ears; and my nose and hair . "I know Itsuki, but you're sick remember? You cannot venture out til you feel better." The poor thing came down with the chills.

She pouts her lips and whimpers, "Can I at least get some fresh air outside?" She hadn't been outside for two days because I wouldn't allow it. Her father insisted I was being over- protected, but nonetheless sided with me.

I love him dearly- her father is everything a woman could hope for: a loving and devoted father and husband, faithful, loyal, trustworthy, protective, and so much more.

"Of course." I give in. She slowly stands as I help her and we walk outside. She inhales and exhales the air.

It's getting dark, the sun is setting, and the sky has become purple and orange. I hope that they'll return home before night takes over. As if I'd been heard, I see a figure on the horizon. It comes running towards us, calling us. I smile as I acknowledged it is my first born son.

"Inuki!" I embrace him warmly. Then I look on to see my beloved husband and youngest child. He carries her until he arrives in front of the doorway. Itsuki goes to him and he takes her in his arms and spins her around. "How's my girl?" he asks kindly. She answers with a laugh and says she wishes she had gone with them. He tells her not to worry because he's going to take her with him, once and it'd just be the two of them.

He calls my name after he places Itsuki down. I go to him and embrace him, "I missed you." I say. He gives me a loving kiss and I return it. He says he missed me too and next time I'm going with them. "Did you and the children have fun?" I ask.

"Heh Inuki and Sakura kept fighting."

I laugh as I am not suprised by this. We are still embracing each other and the children chase each other around our home; laughing and giggling like children are suppose to do.

I call my husband's name.

"Yeah?"

"I love you," I kiss him passionately and in between kisses he tells me, he loves me too. I know he does, without any doubt I know he truly does. I smile at him and gaze into his fiery eyes, "I think we have another one coming." He looks at me for a moment, then realizes what I mean. I was with child.

He grins, "Am I good or what?" I blush deeply and chide him, but all he does is laugh. With his left hand, he takes my chin and forces me to look at his face, then with a sudden speed, he kisses me again. It's filled with heat, and I enjoy it. We have forgotten the children are still in our presence.

I can no longer breathe and pull away, using my left hand, that was placed on his chest, as a leverage. He is grinning as he knows that I cannot go as long as he can.

"Inuyasha," I breathe.

"Kikyou..."

But then I wake up, the dream shatters; and the notion drifts away, slipping further from my grasp.
