My parents and I were rather shocked to find a dishevelled looking man turn up at our door sprouting nonsense about me being a witch.
At first we thought it was utter nonsense and told this particularly strange person to leave, later that day he returned this time accompanied by the supposed head teacher of Hogwarts School of witch craft and wizardry Albus Dumbledore.
If the first man had looked strange it was nothing compared to Albus Dumbledore… he has piercing blue eyes, a nose that looked as if it had been broken twice which held a pair of half moon spectacles.
He was however more believable and he showed me a letter explaining that I was a witch and that I was about to embark on a journey to discover myself fully.
I'd always managed to do strange things… one year whilst in primary school I had made this particularly sinister bully disappear and turn up a couple of weeks later unable to explain has disappearance having not remember leaving the school at all that day. Finally my parents and I believed him, and my life changed forever…
The summer passed in a haze of strangeness, for my parents and I had travelled to diagon alley and purchased all the required items for my upcoming enrolment at Hogwarts.
I had even been brought an owl which I named Hermes according to the pet shop owner was what all teenagers wanted nowadays.
Finally September the first arrived and my parents and I travelled to kings cross so I could catch the Hogwarts express.
"Mum, what platform was it again." I asked suddenly becoming nervous.
"Nine and three quarters" She replied looking around for some sort of sign.
A family of red heads walked past and I caught a snippet of their conversation "Late as always, what platform is it again. Fred, George?" a plump woman with flaming red hair asked her children.
"Mum, I think that lady is a witch we could always ask her." I whispered to my mother and father.
I walked towards the group of red headed people. "E…erm… excuse me… c...could you show me how to get onto the platform?" I asked the red headed plump woman who was obviously in charge here.
"Hogwarts dear?" She asked with a particularly warm smile on her lips.
"Erm yes, I'm muggle born so I have no idea how to get onto the platform." I replied with a sort of smile.
"Don't worry dear, you can go with Fred and George… they are starting Hogwarts this year too, I'll bring your parents through after you." She said first turning towards the twins and then towards my parents with a smile.
"Hey I'm Fred and he's George! Are you exciting about going to Hogwarts?" One of the red headed twins gushed as the pair grabbed my arms and began to lead me towards a particularly solid looking brick wall.
"Oh yes, it sounds fascinating doesn't it?" I replied suddenly happy that I'd already made two friends.
I suddenly realised that we were running towards the brick wall.
"It's best to close your eyes if you're scared" Said the twin who had introduced himself as Fred.
I looked up, smiled then turned around and faced the approaching wall with my eyes closed. When I finally opened my eyes, I was drawn towards a gleaming scarlet steam engine with the name The Hogwarts Express.
