The sun was setting below the horizon, casting the colors of pink, red, yellow and orange into the sky. A lone cat sat at the edge of a cliff, its eyes narrowed as if recalling a memory. Its black pelt turned to orange as the light struck it, and it's yellow eyes shown in the sun.
"It's been years since I've seen you..." She murmured quietly, a hint of sadness slipping out. "I just wish I could have told you how I felt about you.." She continued.
A soft breeze blew, ruffling her fur, but she didn't move from her place.
"I remember your final words to me, 'Stay strong, Eon. Don't ever back down.' you said. And I lived by those words from those days on." Her eyes then became flooded with depression and disappointment. "I just wish I could have lived those days with you by my side..." She bowed her head, eyes closed, for a few moments. "If only you could see all the things that have happened to me because I stuck with your words..." She whispered, on the edge of breaking down. She then looked back out at the sunset, the blazing fireball almost gone. The last bits of orange were dying down and the darkness of night was taking its place. "Now I wish you were here with me more than anything... to just watch this with me, to be at my side again.. to make me smile when nobody else could... to make me happy again.." She watched as the last bits of sun slowly vanished, darkness quickly replacing the bright colors that once resided there.
"You didn't care about who my father was, you didn't care about where I came from, you only cared about who I was, not who my ancestors were." She looked down at her paws, slowly unsheathing her scarlet claws in shame. "But after you left..." She continued, "my entire life just collapsed under my paws.." She closed her eyes in shame. "I took after my father, taking my clan into constant wars, leading them to their deaths. If you had just stayed... just a little longer, things could've been different." She cast her gaze up at the stars. "If you're listening.. I just want you to know that I miss you. But if you're still alive somewhere, I hope I'll meet you again someday... and maybe then I'll get the chance to confess everything to you." She smiled for the first time, getting to her paws and turning, beginning to walk away. She then looked back, a small smile on her muzzle. "I love you, my best friend." She whispered, before turning back forward and walking off into the distance.
