Seated at the table eating that night, Nora couldn't keep her eyes off Paul, the man she thought she'd lost forever.

Her dad and Peter were laughing out loud about some story he was telling and she smiled, her heart fit to burst.

He looked at her next and she was mortified when tears prickled her eyes. She smiled weakly when he reached over and brushed her cheek, leaning into the sensation.

(She knew without looking that the other two males in her life were grinning widely.)

Standing on the balcony later that night, she crossed her arms over her chest as she looked out over the dark sea, the waves crashing on the sand below.

She heard the door open, but didn't move until she felt warm familiar arms wrap themselves around her. Sighing in contentment, she leaned into his embrace.

There was a comfortable silence for some time before Nora spoke softly. "I missed you."

Paul pressed a kiss to the nape of her neck. "I'm sorry."

Nora snorted. "Not your fault." Twining her fingers in his, she held on tight. "I'm just glad you're back."

"Marry me?" he asked softly into her ear.

"Thought we were already engaged?" she teased as she turned in his arms.

The humour died away as she looked into his dark eyes. Their lips clashed together as they clung to each other fiercely.

Parting, she cupped his cheeks. "Yes, I'll marry you."

"Before the week is out?" he kidded.

She held his gaze. "I'm never letting you go."

"I'm not going anywhere."

Finito.
