Falling Into Grace
Chapter 1
Haley James is a complex yet simple girl. She has one friend that will always be in her heart, his name is Lucas Scott. His family is completely messed up, which makes him question so many things. Haley is always there for him. Haley takes on the responsibility of a job at Karen's Café as a waitress, tutors kids from her high school who need the extra help and always seems to find time for the people around her.
"Hey Hales, what did you end up doing last night?" Lucas Scott asks.
"I had some homework to catch up on and caught Gilmore Girls on T.V." Haley says as if Lucas should already know this
"Tutoring anyone new?"
"Nope, nobody has really been coming in for help lately, but oh well it gives me some free time". Haley says as she takes a drink from her coffee cup
"Sorry Luke, but I have to go to school a bit early and grab a book I need from the library, catch you later." Haley says as she runs out the door.
(SCHOOL LIBRARY)
(Haley is listening to her CD player when Nathan Scott approaches her)
"Hey, your Haley James right?" Nathan Scott asks, pretending he has no idea who she is
"Yes, Can I help you?" Haley asks
"I hope so, apparently you are supposed to tutor me in English." Nathan tells her
"Look, I'm sorry but I won't tutor you, you'll have to find someone else." Haley says to him in a "don't bullshit me" tone
"You're the only one, I've asked around and they say you're the best, please I really need your help."
"I'm Lucas's best friend, I hope throw it away just to tutor some basketball star who just wants to get some action."
Nathan looks confused by what Haley has just said to him. No one has ever got the guts to tell him off, especially a girl.
"You know what, I don't really want you of all people to tutor me, but I need the help, just think about it" Nathan says as he walks away.
Haley puts her CD player on. Listening to Sarah McLachlan really helps calm her nerves. She can't believe what she was just asked to do. There is no way she's going to tutor him. She can't it's the most ridiculous idea.
"Well he is kinda cute." Haley thinks to herself.
"No I have to get these thoughts out of my head, Lucas would never speak to me again if I tutored Nathan, but he obviously needs help, usually I wouldn't even be on Nathan Scott's radar, maybe just maybe"
And with that she leaves the library in search of Nathan.
