When Amethyst meets Sapphire:)
"What's the answer to number five?" Sam asked, glancing in the direction of the halfa sitting beside her on the bed.
The boy seemed to be deep in thought. He was staring intensely at the girl in front of him, milking in the site of her. He snapped out of his trance when he heard her voice.
"Umm... 24?" He scratched his head, hoping he'd get lucky and it would be a correct guess.
"Well, that would be the right answer. If this was Algebra and not History." She rolled her eyes at the boy. "I swear, Danny. You're going to fail if you don't learn to focus!"
"Hey, it's not my fault you're so freakin' gorgeous!" He grinned broadly. "I swear it's like I'm a drug addict and your my own special brand of heroine."
Sam laughed lightly at this. "That is the corniest thing I've ever heard."
"Well, it's true." He smiled sweetly and wrapped his arms tightly around her small frame, pulling her into his lap.
"I'll just tell the principal that it was all your fault. You're just too damn distracting, Sammy." He nibbled lightly at the base of her neck and collar bone.
"Not now, babe. We have to study!" She punched him playfully in the arm.
He huffed and buried his face in her silky midnight locks. Breathing in the sweet scent of lavender and spice.
"Addiction is sweet." He muttered softly.
"Keep it up, and you'll be sent to rehab." She replied, elbowing him in the ribs, and forcing him to look her in the eyes.
Amethyst met sapphire, as she said in a very serious tone, "Study now. Playtime later."
Danny groaned, and plopped back down onto the bed. "Fineeeee. If you must insist. But, I must warn you, there will be punishment." He smirked.
"You mean when you fail Sophomore year and I'm forced to go on without you for the rest of our school years? That's punishment enough in itself." She winced slightly at the thought.
Danny smiled softly as he saw the upset look on his girlfriend's face. "Baby, I promise if it means that much to you I'll study the equation."
"Thanks, hun." She grinned. "But for your information, it's called Scientific Notation."
"Scientific what?" Danny looked at Sam as if she'd grown another head.
She laughed lightly and proceeded to spend the next couple minutes explaining to him how the process worked.
"See?" She looked up at him. "You put the negative exponent beside the ten, and over the decimal."
"Like this?" He did as she had explained to him, and to her amazement he actually got it correct.
"Wow. That's right! You actually got it right!"
"Don't act so shocked." He pouted. "I'm not that bad at math."
"Of course not. You're brain just chooses to turn to jello whenever you see an exponent." She giggled, deliberately teasing him.
He growled at the goth girl giggling below him. "Hey now. Let's not get feisty... I might get distracted."
"Hmm... Well, seeing that you did manage to pay attention for once, I guess you do deserve a reward." She smirked slyly at him.
"Oh yeah." He raised an eyebrow. "What kind of reward?"
"Oh, you'll see." She smiled sexily, before crashing her lips against his. Her arms hooked tightly around his neck, and his hands traveled down her back.
From that point on Danny's favorite subject has been, and always will be Algebra.
