I am writing you this letter to tell you that bright things will be coming your way. I have intercepted a deal that will bring you and others millions of dollars. I suggest that you handle the situation in the last box with caution. That is a very powerful weapon that will take out everything and everyone in its path. Try your best to figure out how to decode it without using professional help. Ben, I know you will figure it out.
By choosing to call in others, you will attract attention from many people on the island and possibly around the world. Once word spreads, many who have heard about the deal will flock to the island trying to find the money. These people are not to be messed with. Therefore, take my advice and use your resources. Ellis is to be trusted and hopefully have a plan.
Speaking of Ellis, I ask that you do not screw over my old pal. We go way back. He has done nothing bad to us and I am sure he never will. He has an idea about the deal that I have ruined and I promised him a cut of the cash. So whatever you do, stay true to my word and give him a handsome share of the riches.
Another piece of advice I would like to share is to give Ellis a bit more than you would think to. By this I mean, give him extra that he will watch over for you. He will not steal your cut of the cash. I am sure of it. Many people on the island are going to tell you that they deserve a cut of the cash. I believe that for the danger I have struck upon Smith Island, they do deserve some. But these men are going to get greedy fast. They are going to give two shits less about your cut of the profit. They are already thinking of the upgrades to their houses, repairs to their boats, new toys they will purchase. Don't be fooled, son.
By now you may have also been introduced to my good friend, Maynard Chalk. I wish you could hear the sarcasm in my voice. Chalk is a nasty bastard who will kill anything that stands between him, the money, and the bomb. He and his army of muts are going to put up a good fight, my boy. I need you to stay strong. I need you to fight for me and the others who he is going to eliminate.
The only thing that I can tell you is to start with his army of idiots. Those boys will easily give up information and turn on each other. They think they are tough and can win every fight but I know you can take them. Chalk only picks men who are good with a firearm. If you can remove their weapons, you can definitely take them in a fist fight.
With the idiots out the way you and Ellis will have to take on Chalk together. That man was raised in some sort of mental institution located deep in the levels of Hell. He is bat shit crazy, Ben. He will play minds games and make you and Ellis turn against each other. Don't let that happen. You have to stay focused and tune out his bs. He has no aim with a shotgun but verbally he can kill. I know you will find him and I know you will put up a damn good fight.
