So, I want to apologize for being late. I didn't expect that I'd be tired from finishing a Computer Applications class over the summer, and I forgot that I was going to see Mr. Holmes right afterward. Fantastic movie, by the way. Allow me to tell you a story. One time, I was on YouTube and I commented on a video once, and I said, "If every Sonic fanfiction just stopped having sex in them, almost everything wrong with Sonic fanfiction would shrivel up and die." I was then criticized by some idiot, who told me that I didn't know the "true meaning" of fanfiction. So, apparently, what happened was that someone told me that fanfiction needs to have sex in it in order to be considered even in the genre of "fanfiction."
Now, I hear your facepalms. And, yes, I facepalmed, too. True fanfiction is not sex. True fanfiction is a story about popular characters created by a fan of said popular characters. True fanfiction is not a fan-made story about two characters "getting it on."
Unfortunately, the majority of horny teenage Sonic fans tend to ignore this, and try to have as many Fifty Shades of Blue stories as humanly possible so that they can masturbate some more before they're caught by their mother. And this is a franchise targeted towards kids! Sonic characters should not be having sex because it just doesn't fit with Sonic's already established universe!
Believe it or not, I've seen fanfictions of either Sonic, Shadow, or some other Sonic character having sex with women go literally over a hundred chapters. I won't mention these fanfictions by name because I'm a nice guy and I don't want any white knights attacking certain people, but seriously. Over a hundred chapters of the author's sexual moans, and over a hundred chapters of my frustrated groans.
And don't think this just applies to one type of sex-fic, either. One-shots, full stories, harems, you name it, they're all bad for making Sonic characters have intercourse with one another. If every single author just deleted their Sonic sex fantasies and actually write stories that are actually decent, Sonic fanfiction would just be that much more closer to actual improvement. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be happening, and horny Sonic fans will keep on making these crappy stories.
It's also quite funny how protective authors are of their fanfiction. When their idiotic sex-fic gets a little bit of criticism, they complain and accuse the critics of "bullying them," like their fics are works of art. However, their fanfictions are the complete opposite of art. They're about as "artsy" as a sex joke told by a fifth grader. Seriously, if I have to read another Sonic fanfiction where Tails and Cream are going at it, I'm going to cry in a corner.
