If there was anything Lily Luna Potter had ever prided herself in, it was the way she always seemed to be able to get what she wanted, Not in a spoiled way, no. She just had the natural ability to change and effect situations to her liking. But when the news spread that Teddy (Her very best friend, and love of her life) had purposed to Victorie (Her cousin, and slutty Veela enemy), she found this power to fail.
Rose Weasley has always prided herself in her supportive and kind nature. If a stranger needed a hug, you could count on her to give it. If her family got into a fight, she'd be switzerland and see her way out of it. Of course, this was very hard to maintain at times. Especially when her cousin Dominique just got engaged to Scorpius Malfoy, the love of her life.
Lily and Rose were close, maybe the closest Weasley-Potters. There were times when Rosie's happy-go-lucky attitude annoyed Lily, but she was grateful- it balanced out her overly-cynical self. There were times when Lily's mopping annoyed Rosie, but she was grateful- who else could she always tell a joke to? The two girls told each other everything. So one night they sat down in the living room, when the rest of the family were at engagement parties.
"So, he's marrying Dommie huh?" Lily cocked an eyebrow. "He's a Malfoy, you'd think he'd have taste!" She scoffed, rolling her eyes.
"Y-yeah he is." Rose sniffled. "But w-what about Teddy? He's marrying Vicky. That's horrible, doesn't he know you've been in love with him since you were ten?"
"No. He doesn't." Lily sighed, running her fingers through her hair. "You're the only one that knows. Oh, and Vicky. But she doesn't give two fucks about anyone does she?"
"Sorry Lils." Rose patter her cousins shoulder. At a knock on the door, Rose stood up. She skipped to the door and pulled it open. "Ly's here!" Rose callled, passing Lily she winked, mouthed 'good luck' and went upstairs. Lily frowned, but it quickly faded.
"Hey, Ly." Lily greeted. She pushed him away gently when he tried to kiss the top of her head.
Lysander sighed in defeat. "How are you today Lily-pad?".
"Fine." Lily lied, as she always did around Lysander Scamander, who happened to be her boyfriend.
