A.N.: Of course, werewolf prompts are usually with Remus, but I've never written about him or Tonks so I decided to give it a go.

I groan in pain, regardless of the attempts Tonks tries to soothe me. I can hear her grit her teeth.

"I hate seeing you like this, Remus." she says. I shiver as another flash of heat rolls up my spine. Creaking my eyes open, I stare into her concerned face. Her hair has turned a deep midnight blue. I hiss again as I feel my muscles roll.

"I k-know," I choke out, "I'm sorry." Tonks wipes a cool towel across my head and my body both thanks and hates her for it. The sooner the full moon passes, the better.

"Does it ever get easier?"

My eyes pop open in surprise before another wave of pain causes them to close and my throat to sound out a groan. A hand slips into mine and before I can stop it, my own squeezes it hard. I feel her flinch, but she doesn't let go. She's so strong. She's dealt with so much in her life what with being a Metamorphmagus and now with me. I'll never be able to thank her to the extent my heart wants to. Tonks is the only one besides James and Sirius who actual try to console me, comfort me, understand me.

"W-why," I grit my teeth as I try to turn on my back, "do you ask, love?" I open my eyes to look at her. Her lovely hair turns pink at the ends. The color blends quite nicely, I notice. Tonks looks away and shrugs. I try to smile encouragingly, but it feels like a scowl.

"I just wanted to know. It seems like it would, you know. Like easier with practice." She's embarrassed to ask. I struggle to ignore the pain to sit up and she looks surprised. I breathe for a moment to try and focus on my thoughts. Tonks rubs my arm.

"I could...lie to you to spare...you, but...I love you too much...to do so." She waits patiently for me to finish. I breath again. "I think it gets... harder every year, but... I know it doesn't. It is so much... pain to go through. But," I pause and try to squeeze her hand gently. Tonks' dark eyes started to fill with tears, making me feel guilty. Again, I try to smile. "I would deal with it... for the rest... it my life...to be with you."

Tonks cautiously wraps her arms around my neck and pecks me on the lips.

"I love you, my strong wolf."
