I found my destiny. Her. She is my life's mission and for her my life is no sacrifice at all. I willingly give my life for hers because she cannot die. She must live. And I will wait for her. For as long as it takes I will be here waiting. My soul and hers are joined. I visit her in dreams. I wait for the moment that I can see her standing there across the river from me.
She walks to the water's edge and her eyes meet mine. I smile. There are no words for how I feel for her. It doesn't need to be said, it is written all over the both of us. We are one. I stand and bask in her beauty. The earth around me is healing but she brings a beauty to it that cannot be described.
I gaze upon her as the sun begins to rise. She is fighting against the day, against her world. She wants to stay here and I long for the day I can touch her again. She needs to remember that day in the Caves of Sighs, the day we officially became one soul. She will understand this better than if I said it aloud. I draw the symbol that binds us together, that tethers me to her in the soft dirt on the bank of the river where we shall meet again in time. Love. She smiles and it lights up the sky. She knows that I love her deeper than anything else.
This is but a moment and I can feel the day breaking, pulling her back to her world. I can see the fear in her eyes as she struggles to hold on to this moment.
No. Come back, she calls.
We will be together again. This is a journey I cannot and will not make without her. She had much to do before she can join me here, but I will wait. She will come in her time and until then I will speak to her through dreams. Dreams mean something and that she knows. It is as it should be and this is why I reassure her.
I'm here, I say. She is squinting into the light, trying to keep sight of me much like I am desperate to keep sight of her. She must live in her world, we are granted these moments and we must treasure them for what they are. We must wait for what is to come.
You can't hold back the light, Gemma. I'm here. Trust me. And she does. I see it in her eyes as the light becomes too bright for her to see. There's a slight upturn in her lips that has not been there for a long while. She is going to be okay and with that knowledge I rest easy. When the time comes we will be together. It is my destiny. It is our destiny.
