Hi, all! I've been trying to finish some stories and, despite my best intentions, haven't been very invested in many of them. I know that this idea has been done before but here is my cheesy take on a possible Austin and Ally storyline. Read and review, please.
Disclaimer: As you may have guessed, I, in no way whatsoever, own Austin and Ally.
"Hey, Ally." I turned to see my best friend skip through the door at midday with unusual vigour for someone who was up until five in the morning. "How's work?"
"It's alright," I yawned. "I just" *yawn* "am so tired" *yawn* "after working on the song last night."
Austin grinned. "It can't be that bad, Ally. We've done worse before."
I glared at him. "You mean when we slept well into the afternoon last month? Today I didn't have the luxury of more than three hours sleep, unlike you."
Austin scratched his neck at my volatile attitude. "Maybe you just need some time off to catch up on lost sleep."
"Like that will ever happen, Austin. Where could I find a replacement who knew the store and music like the back of their hand?"
He considered this for a minute. "I'll get Dez -"
"No! There'd be nothing left after an hour - and not because he sold them," I shouted, causing the customers that were wandering through the store to flee. "Look what I've done now. I can't keep doing this without sleep," I groaned and tried to use the counter as a pillow.
"I was going to say that I would get Dez to stand in for a few minutes, with me taking over later, while I helped you up to bed."
"I don't need help. I'm perfectly fine," I retorted.
"Tell that to your legs," he grinned as my legs buckled beneath me. The only thing holding me upright was the counter I was resting on.
Austin flipped the sign on the door to 'Closed'.
"What are you doing? I have to keep the store open." I began sliding against my will to the edge of the countertop.
Austin caught me before I could land in a heap on the floor. "I'll take over running the store, Ally. We'll take you up and get you some sleep in the practice room," he chuckled and hauled me (my ability to carry my own weight had been seriously failing by that point) up the stairs and onto the practice room's couch. "Here's your blanket and pillow so you're all set." He began to leave the room until I called him in my sleepy state.
"Thank you, Austin," I mumbled.
"Anything for you, Ally. I would give you the world, if I could," he whispered. Then, just before I heard the click of the door closing, I may have been dreaming but I think I heard him say under his breath, "I love you, Ally."
My last waking thought before I drifted off to sleep was, "I love you too, Austin."
