She's like a drug really, one (tantalizing) taste and you're hooked. He's been hooked since he was thirteen even though he was kinda (totally) dating her best friend. But they're not thirteen anymore and she's got this (to fucking die for) hourglass body to prove it.
So it's New Years Eve and she's wearing this dress and it's driving him crazy 'cause it's the exact damn shade as her (god damn gorgeous) eyes. The parties what every New Years Party should be; an array of overly bright neon lights, over made up girls and (over played) music that bounces of the walls. Yet she's here so it's perfect.
'Natie' She chimes, her words tumbling out of cherry-glossed pouted lips.
'Hey Serena.' He replies, wrapping his arms around in a totally (not) casual, just friends way.
'The countdowns soon, I can't believe it's been a year. We're in our senior year of high school for that matter. I always thought I was gonna get expelled or something.' She says, a smile toying on her mouth.
'You just left for boarding school instead, always the dumper not the dumpee, isn't that how it goes?' He teases, taking a sip out of his drink.
'Something like that.' She replies, a trace of discomfort in her tone. 'Dance with me, it's New Years Eve and we're turning into our parents with all this talk-when we are totally way too gorgeous for that.' He's never been able to resist a request from Serena, so why the hell should he bother trying now?
'Won't argue with you there.' She takes his hand and leads him onto the dance floor, oblivious to (or ignoring) all the heads shamelessly turning in her direction.
The countdowns begun and a smattering of people are huddling together in celebration.
'10.'
'Best thing this year for you?' She shoots at him before winding her arms around his neck.
'9.'
'You coming back from boarding school. What about you?'
'8.'
'Blair forgiving me for what happened at the Shepherd wedding.'
'7.'
'Scariest moment?'
'6.'
'When I thought my Dad was dead at Thanksgiving, you?'
'5.'
'When I told you, Chuck and Blair about the guy that over-dosed and how I thought it was my fault he died. I was so scared you were all going to hate me.' Her voice has got this heartbreaking tremble and he feels so helpless as he watches her lips quiver.
'4.'
'I can only speak for myself when I say I could never hate you.' The words dance around her ears until she's smiling again.
'3.'
'Goodness knows Blair made you try though.' She murmurs with a laugh. He can't help but grin at the girl as he spins her around in a flurry of silky blond hair and glittering jewelry. It also breaks his heart because she's like a sheer diamond (sparkling, gleaming and perfect) and there's no way that they belong together.
'2.'
'Not my fault I'm crazy about you Miss Van Der Woodsen and can you blame me? You're not exactly making it easy for me in that dress.' He complements and a blush creeps onto her cheeks. His hands lace themselves through her liquid gold hair, her (sandalwood) scent playing havoc on his mind.
'1.'
'You never make it easy.' She pouts. They've stopped dancing now. It's as if the world has stopped and no one else exists but them. Hell, to him there has never been anyone but her anyway.
'0.'
And just like that amongst the mish-mash of people their lips are finally finding there way to each other, like two stars that were destined to inevitably collide.
