The jewel rested in her hand, casting its fell sparkle on them as it knit into dangerous perfection. Kagome sagged, bringing an exhausted Inuyasha with her to their knees. The quest was over; their enemy now a drifting pile of powdery ash and clinging miasma. Too exhausted and battle-worn for any thought beyond "it's over," someone rasped the final question: "Now what?"
Inuyasha pulled the unconscious miko across his back and answered, "Now, Kagome keeps sharp objects away from the damn thing."
