James was sitting in the library reading. It wasn't a surprise this year. I had been helping him with his homework. He had been goofing off for the last six years and he had asked me to help him with his homework. He was hopeless in the first few weeks, but he was learning and I was starting to really like him.
Last year, he had been everything but quiet, considerate, hard working, caring and sweet. This year, he was.
'Lily?' came his sweet voice.
'Huh?' I asked stupidly.
'You've been staring at me for 10 minutes, I was wondering if you wanted something.'
'Sorry… and…' my face blushed so bright red I would have beaten a red traffic light in a red traffic light competition.
'And?'
'You,' I whispered.
'me?' what would you want with me?'
'Uh…' I said not looking at him.
'What?'
'Ireallylikeyou,' I rushed.
'Hold on, let my brain process that.'
'And?'
'Did you say I really like you?'
'Yes,' I said VERY quietly.
'Lils?' he said softly.
'Yeah?'
'I really like you too. I have for… since I met you. I have fallen in love with you, and I changed, for you.'
'Can you show me how much you care?'
'How?'
'Kiss me.'
'Ok,' he whispered before he leant forward and cupped my cheek with his hand and kissed me softly. It was a slightly open-mouth, soft kiss, amazing… he pulled back and sighed.
'Wow! Did that…' he trailed off but I knew what he was going to ask, in respond I kissed him…
End.
