Gabriel's Accidental Proposal
A/N: So I'm a new TID fan and that's my first fanfic about it. I've shipped Gabriel/Cecy as soon as his lips parted when he spotted it. I hope you enjoy it!
Gabriel's POV
Gabriel adjusted his tie and glanced once more at the mirror.
He hadn't really cared about his looks before, but then came Cecily. Now he finds himself wondering whether he looks handsome enough for such a beautiful lady to like him.
He was wearing a golden suit for it was Tessa and Will's wedding day. How strange it is that they're getting married when only one year ago, Tessa was engaged to be married to Jem, who's a silent brother now. He was wondering which of them Tessa would've chosen if Jem was still a Shadowhunter when someone knocked on his door.
"Come in," he said.
The door opened as a sweet voice said, "You better be ready, Gabriel! We are already late!"
Gabriel was aware of his lips parting and his eyes widening. Cecily seemed to notice his reaction for her cheeks flushed.
She's truly the prettiest lady he ever laid eyes on.
She was wearing a dark blue dress with a long train that matched her blue eyes and made them stand out. Her braided hair was adorned with small white pearls that shone brightly n her endless sea of black hair. He felt the sudden urge to run his hands through her silky hair.
"I'm ready. May I say you look exceptionally stunning today," said Gabriel.
She blushed furiously and suddenly took interest in her perfect braid. Then she raised her eyes from her hair and stepped towards him. Her blue eyes had this mischievous look he's grown to love.
She was so close that he can feel her steady breathing against his chin.
She reached up and adjusted his tie.
"Gabriel Lightwood! You're 19 and you still can't tie a tie properly. And look at that tousled hair!"
She grabbed a hairbrush from the dresser and aggressively attacked his hair with it.
"Cecy! Ouch! Leave my hair alone!"
When she didn't respond to his complains, he playfully ran away in mock panic.
"Come back here, I'm not finished!" said Cecily as she followed him around the room.
As the couple rushed after each other, Gabriel's foot caught in the rug and they stumbled onto the floor; Cecy on top of him.
They stared into each other's eyes in awkward silence. When Cecily tried to get up, he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her into a kiss. She gasped into his mouth but eventually melted into the kiss. He ran his hands through her raven hair. After what seemed like eternity, they broke away gasping for air.
His hands were still marveling through her hair.
"I'd like my children to have such hair," he blurted out before even thinking about it.
Cecy had this effect on him. He, Gabriel Lightwood, lost all the grace and elegance he acquired throughout the 19 years of shadowhunting when he spoke to her.
When he realized what he said, he flushed all over furiously.
Before he could explain himself, she burst in laughing and rolled of him.
He sat sheepishly watching her clutch her stomach while laughing.
"Gabriel Lightwood, YOU DIDN'T JUST PROPOSE!"
"It is a proposal, if you think about it. But I didn't mean it, "said Gabriel.
She nodded her head, though he could make out the disappointment in her look.
"No, it's not that I didn't mean it, but I know that you're not ready yet. You're roughly 16. I love you, Cecy. I'll come up with another ridiculous proposal 2, 3 years from now."
"If it helps at all, I'll say yes."
"Oh, it helps. It forms a comfort zone"
The End
