Stubborn, Sick and Surprisingly Stoic

"And from this we can easily conclude," Rodney broke off in a violent coughing fit, Radek closed his eyes partly in exasperation, partly in concern.

"Rodney," John broke in. "I get that this Ancient… thing is important but no one's gonna die if you don't finish it today. Take the day off! It's usually harder to get you out of the infirmary."

Rodney glared. "This 'Ancient thing'-!"

"Rodney…" He leant in and whispered something in the physicist's ear.

Rodney paled and, without a word, left the room

"What did you say to him?"

John turned in surprise, Radek was looking at him reverently.

"You are the first person to ever be able to make Rodney take a sickday he should have actually taken. Even when in the infirmary he usually makes a break for here. What did you say?"

John winked and grinned at him. "Don't ask, don't tell, Radek."
