Tomorrow is Waiting
The feeling of loneliness brought along with daylight continues to haunt me. As much as I try to ignore my conscience, the facts are always there.
And Miley is not.
But I know that she's waiting for me too, which eases the pain just enough that life is bearable enough to live through.
Time and I have always been at odds; for some, He is a thing of the past, but for me, He is ever present. And Time is just a reminder of the future, and how it cannot be with her.
[The clock strikes]
Time, however, has not been all too evil with me, because every night, He allows me to spend with Miley. I meet her at the same spot where she always has waited for me, and we sneak away into my night. We walk through the park, our hands intertwined as we whisper those three words to each other again and again. We relax on the bridge, gazing over the river while enjoying the feeling of one another; both of us secretly wishing this serenity could be ours forever. We roam the streets as I show her those talents that differ between the two of us, both impressing and saddening her. And when the temptations I feel towards her become too much, she knows to withdraw herself from me.
It is during these moments that Time does no exist.
As we sit here on this night, her phone reminds us of the bittersweet present. Miley's day and my night are what separates the two of us, until we are joined together again in the eve. We wander to her destination, walking the silent streets, my nonexistent life becoming evermore intruding. And when that first ray of light pokes through, we dip our way to under cover. She whispers her goodbyes to me, promising that the nights are ours, as I long to be with her on these occasions. She steps into the sunlight, glancing back at me, and I watch in envy of the one thing that keeps us apart.
Once again, Time is my enemy.
But I know that I can let Miley go, because tomorrow is waiting.
