Self Sacrifice

I have an obligation.
Something that only I can do.
A heavy burden upon me,
that makes me want to run.

I have to keep going,
for the sake of promises made.
If I have to hurt myself,
it's a small price to pay.

I can't let myself die.
But it's impossible to not get hurt.
I just have to make it,
that's all that really matters.

I can't lower myself.
I can't become what I'm trying to stop.
I'll go out of my way,
just to preserve that peace.

My mind is set.
The dice have been cast.
I leave it up to fate,
to decide my future.
