Camp Fire

By Briana Douglas

He stared at her from across the valley. She was cuddled into her sleeping bag. The fire danced on her face. He walked over to her and squatted to look at her more closely. She was sleeping peacefully. He never thought she could get anymore beautiful at the moment. He had yet to tell her he loved her. And at this point he didn't think he would ever do it. As he yelled at himself mentally, he looked down at the sleeping beauty and watched as the wind danced with her hair. He watched as one strain fell down across her face. He instantly moved it off her face and back behind her ear. But when she started to stir he paused. She stopped and went back to sleeping. He took a deep breath and started to move away when he felt a hand on his arm. He looked down to see a sleeping girl.

"Stay please." She said with out opening her eyes.

"Sure, but may I ask why?" He asked looking at her.

"Because you staring at me it's really annoying." She said with a smirk on her face.

"I wasn't staring." He said with a little defense.

"You know I know you better than that Inuyasha. So come here." Kagome said opening her eyes and looking into his golden orbs. She falls in love with him deeper every time she looked at them. She unzipped her sleeping bag and made it in to a big comforter and scooted over for Inuyasha. Inuyasha lay down next to her. He scooped her into his arms. Her head rested on his chest as he pulled the blanket over them. He couldn't stop moving he was so nervous. Kagome looked up at him.

"Stop fidgeting!" She'd semi laughed at her comment.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He said looking down at her. Her scent intoxicating to his senses. He loved her scent, and placed his nose into her hair. He slowly fell asleep. Kagome stayed awake until he did. She moved her body to look at him sleep. She bent down and kissed his crown.

"Night, Inuyasha." She whispered. She didn't notice his smile. But she cuddled back into his arms for the night and slept better than she had for a couple of days. Love is what kept her going.

'Thank you Inuyasha. Thank you.' She thought to herself as she fell asleep in her loves arms. Inuyasha watched her breathing mellow out, then he laid his head on hers taking in all her scent that made his head spin. He was home, with her in his arms he was home.
