PROLOGUE: WORLD WAR III

After the treaty of World War III, the nations of the world decided the years should start over at zero to signify a new beginning with a truce across the world. Now history is split into three parts instead of two: BC, AD, and now AW. The BC stands for Before Christ, the AD means Anno Domini, and AW is for After War.

There may be a truce, but it won't last. People are too greedy and always want more. That's how World War III started. Some places had advanced technology, while others had lots of natural resources. Then people started fighting over who should have what, and many wars broke out at once. Soon, every country was fighting for their share of the earth. Several billion people throughout the world were murdered for the sake of power.

More and more countries were giving in to other stronger ones until it seemed every country would wipe each other out. Then the treaty was made to share all technology and natural resources, as well as to have universal peace.

But it won't last forever. Already, nation leaders are taking more than their fair share of different items, in addition to raising costs of essential products and making taxes exorbitant.

Leaders of different countries have gone back to their old ways, ruling however they want, whether it be a democracy, a monarchy, a dictatorship or another form of government. There will sure to be countries that start building their armies again to gain more power over the world. The equality the treaty brought to every living human being is only temporary, and countries will soon go back to how they were during BC and AD.

I live in a country where the monarchy is corrupt. Our king is a kind, just king to the outside countries, but to those of us who live here, he is a demanding, self-centered ruler who would kill a person simply for voicing their ideas. We, the rebels, are trying to stop him and bring our government back to what the treaty originally entailed.
