DISCLAIMER: I DONT OWN HOMESTUCK
Doomed timelines:
Raindrops hit the ground harshly, causing the dry land to become mud. Splashes from foot steps grow bigger and the strides became longer. One small slip could end it all.
With a flick of the wrist I swung my weapon to the side of my body as my feet swiftly shifted. Causing me to come to a hault as I leapt forward. My sword swinging in front. The sound of impact was sharp yet it only lasted a brief second. My eyes squinted at the creature flying back it pitch black body hitting the ground causing mud to splatter around it. A sigh of relief flushed over me, but was quickly over taken by a sickening feeling. Everyone and everything around me has gone quiet.
I called out for my friends but it was followe by silence. Oh no. I picked myself up off my knees and picked up my sword. I started walking, my legs feeling heavy and painful. My pants were ripped and my shoes were stained. "Guys?" My guy is churning but my legs continue to carry me.
"John." I stared down at my friend his eyes were lifeless and his glasses were cracked. His hammer was at his side still being clutched in fear. His once blue shirt now stained in brown. "I'm sorry John"
I bent down and closed his eyes, "Goonight old friend".
I got back up and continued walking almost dreading that I couldn't have saved him. I continued to walk until I found another familiar friend. "Not you not Rose.." I screamed out. She has beautiful whitish blonde hair. Her eyes were dark. Her orange dress is now stained with blood and her sewing needle is pertruding out of her chest. Someone got to her, and she couldn't take them
I bent down taking the needle out of her chest and placing it into the hand with her other one. I shut her eyes taking one last glimpse at their magnificent purple color. Rose, who knee you'd be your own downfall.
I got up and continued on walking. Why am I carrying on anymore? There's no hope left in me and I'm just growing weary and tired.
"Jade?" "Jade?"
"Dave help me!" A small voice called out. I picked up my pace and broke into a sprint. The sword on my back bouncing with every step.
"Dave help me!" Jade continued to scream. She came into view of me. One of the "minions" had her pinned against a tree one hand around her neck.
"Hold on!" I screamed unsheathing my sword and dashing towards it. I got close enough and slashed it in half sending black blood everywhere Jade collapsed into a puddle underneath the tree.
I ran over to her and smiled until I noticed her holding her stomach tightly. I bent down and quickly grabbed at her hands. There was a lot of blood soaking through her dress.
"Jade I'm sorry."
"Its okay Dave. It wasn't your fault." She said with a shaky voice.
"It is though. If I would have gotten here soon I could've... I couldve saved you."
"No Dave I wasn't meant to live in this timeline. I was doomed to die. But at least I got to say I love you before I did."
"Jade I'm sorry."
"Dave stop it."
"I'm so sorry Jade"
"Don't be Dave... I love you..." She said slumping back onto the tree.
I looked into her eyes they were a beautiful green that she always hated but I absolutely adored. "I'm sorry Jade." I said giving her one final kiss before shutting her eyes for good. I got up and walked over picking up my sword out of a small mud pile that I had dropped it in. I'm stuck in this timeline. Why is it I had to live? Everyone else deserved to live more then I do. They deserved to live. I picked up the blade and looked at it running my fingers over its sharp edge. I put the tip to my neck and sliced.
They deserve to live
