"The Captain has spoken much of your valor, Falcon Warrior," said Thor, clasping Sam's hand with characteristic fervor. "It gladdens my heart, to know that adversity has not broken the spirit of Midgard's Blue Men."
"Oh, well, it's…" Sam began; then Thor's adjective registered, and he blinked. "Midgard's what men?"
"Negroes," said Steve. "That's the phrase the Norse used; it's why Snorri Sturlason called Africa 'Blåland'."
"Seriously?"
"Seriously."
"Huh." Sam grinned. "Too bad we don't know some super-powered Apache Marine, then. We could team up with him, and be Red, White, and Blue."
Steve chuckled. "Better keep our eyes open."
