Well on tumblr, someone thought of a singleparent!Durbe AU with Iris and then I thought 'since she looks like Rio, couldn't she be the HolyIce child or something?". And that's where this came from. This is set 9 years after ZEXAL in which the Barians have ranked up and Kaito's back (I know they're still dead. Shut up. This is fanfiction I do what I want!) I'm sorry if Iris sounds OOC. "Papa, Mama, what do you think?" a 15-year-old Iris asked her parents, blushing. The little girl (though she wasn't little anymore) was dressed in a pale green sundress that transitioned into aqua halfway down and brown sandals. She was also wearing the Baria Gem necklace that her mother, Rio, gave her.

Durbe smiled. His daughter has grown so much. "You look wonderful, Iris," he said with a grin.

"Indeed," Rio agreed. "I'm sure Haruto won't regret asking out a girl like you!"

Iris blushed. "You think so Mother?"

"We know so," Durbe reassured her. Then he winked. "Besides, you two make quite the couple."

"PAPA!"

He and Rio laughed. Poor Iris was flustered.

It was expected that they would get together eventually. Ever since she started going to school, she and Haruto were friends. Then, she told them that she had a crush on him.

And then Haruto asked her out in front of everyone. They were so happy!

Ryoga was fuming but Iris was to him what Haruto was to Kaito so he let it slide.

They heard a knock. There was only one person it could be.

"Sweetie, your boyfriend's here!" Rio announced.

Iris blushed again and went to open the door. Just like her mother had said, it was Haruto. Who was twiddling with his thumbs and looking down, a tinge of pink on his face. "M-moshi moshi, Iris-chan," he said, smiling and holding out a hand for her.

"Ohayo, Haruto-kun," Iris replied, accepting the hand.

"Have fun, Iris!" Durbe called out.

"OK! Bye!" Iris said before closisng the doors.

Durbe gave a small smile before returning to The Queen Must Die (awesome book).

"Mou," Rio groaned. "Remember when our relationship used to be like that used to be like that? Now it's all jobs and taking care of Iris (not that I mind that) and bills, bills, bills."

Durbe chuckled. "It's hard to get some time to ourselves, huh?" he mused. "Usually either Iris or Ryoga is here when we do have some free time."

"Not to mention your nose is always stuck in a book," Rio remarked.

Durbe frowned. Then he smirked. "You know..." Durbe said, gesturing her to come closer.

"What?" She walked over to Durbe.

"Since we're all alone," he continued, "and Iris has been wanting a sibling for a while now..."

Rio blushed, knowing what he was implying.

"...are you sure?" she asked hesitantly.

With a nod, he leaned over and kissed her, his mouth opening instantly.

Their tongues pressed against each other, engaging in a heated battle.

They pulled apart and Durbe kissed her neck, lick and sucking on certain areas that made Rio moan.

Though she should've kept quiet.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TWO DOING?!"

Durbe quickly pulled away and the two of them looked up to see a fuming Ryoga. They were screwed.

"U-uh, w-we can explain-" Rio stuttered, her face turning bright red.

Then Ryoga smiled sweetly.

Way too sweetly.

"Durbe...?" the octopus-head said dangerously softly. "May I have a word with you?"

That was all it took for Durbe to run, Ryoga chasing after him.

Rio winced. Poor Durbe...
