Title: Leading By Example
Prompt: wedding
Words: 108
Summary: The early days of Christian and Margo's marriage.
A/N: I am going away for the next few days and wanted to leave you with something to read while I'm gone. This set of drabbles will be in two parts, the next of which I will update when I return. Have a good week. :)
A/N 2: Inspired by Owl City's If My Heart Was A House.
Christian twirls her across the dance floor, smells of roses and fresh tulips enveloping them both. (She imagines them weaving through a meadow of flowers.)
White lace patterned against flushed skin, he kisses her gently in front of the crowd, guests cheering gaily in the background (more alive than she's ever felt). She watches, somewhat in awe, as her life is laid out before her, like stepping stones encircling a fountain; with him at the center.
It isn't until the honeymoon, with white sandy beaches and starlit night skies, that doubts begin creeping in; the empty bottle and lone wineglass on the table foretelling an entirely different future.
